Kansas State Football / Re: Football hc nugget

Oh there’s absolutely no plan. Bill is definitely holding the university hostage. Calming the waters and all.

I'd like to believe this isn't true, but my gut tells me it is.

it is 100% true.

i hope one year sometime we don't absolutely implode in the summer.

Fulham just beat Chelsea to signing Seri!!   :Woot:

Seri's agent has been making up rumors about him being linked to big clubs since January.

Nope

at no point did chelsea put in a real bid for the guy. not a top of the table contending type player.

4
i may have to become a chelsea fan so i can watch this Willian guy. my goodness

welcome aboard! hopefully we don't sell him to United like was heavily rumored.

5
Next round draw is this morning at 10am

6
not a good time to have Jimmy hurt, Seth hurt, Yohan hurt, Shelton hurt, and Guti hurt with a Wednesday road USOC game, and then a Saturday MLS match @ Portland.

Makes navigating Wed tough. We may see a couple Rangers called up.

7
Gerso was dynamic and Zusi, my god, elite. Yohan and Lobato both were fine, but my god was Minnesota awful in the back, an utter disaster.

it makes the draw 2 weeks ago even more maddening.

Granted Minnesota United sucks but I wouldn't mind more minutes for Rubio and Gerso.

Gerso got 90

I meant overall, not just this game

I don't disagree but who do you want him to play in front of? Johnny Russell has been great, Danny is playing really well, I'm not sure he's the answer centrally, and i don't think he is able to play deeper in the midfield.

Yohan actually was playing really well, makes me sad he went out. Kuzain got the goal, that was aided big time by a deflection by MnUn. Outside of that he was mainly invisible imo. Jay Linds got on, which was fun, but it is so painfully obvious he doesn't have a left foot. Granted he is a RB and hopefully won't be forced to play LB often, he was not comfortable out there. Glad Rubio got a goal, K-Shelt is better at hold up play, but i don't see how anyone could argue that if you're looking for a goal from the #9 spot Rubio is your better bet than Shelton. Danny had a nice goal, and he's having a great season, not sure if he is the answer centrally though, but the way Gerso and he weaved and rotated it worked, and i think that can work with Johnny too, so maybe a false 9 with those 3 is the answer, not sure, i tend to lean towards saying Shelton's hold up play is probably the best move as long as we can continue to see scoring from the wings and midfield

Ilie Roger and Zusi bossed that game. Lobato had his best game as a Sporting player.

Bese and Ike were a bit lazy a few times on defense, but I’ll take 4-1 no matter how it comes.

Vote for 2026 is coming soon. Not feeling good.

Know what does make me feel good tho? The future of the USMNT. I had a lot of fun watching the kids dominate Bolivia’s D team.

Roman is probably getting in some sort of trouble. He’s trying to cash in his Jewish heritage to get Israeli citizenship. His era of good times with Putin must be coming to an end. I hope he can get his assets out of Russia and be able to infuse cash into the club so they can make some moves this window.

I want to add something else, separate of the officiating. I know I've been trashing Lobato for a year, but it was shocking to see in person, the negative impact he has on a match. I'm not blaming him solely for the loss, but we were absolutely playing 10 on 10. My nine year old daughter, who does play, mocked him for ALWAYS playing the ball back. He was right in front us, so it was obvious to see that he wouldn't even pick his head up to attempt to play a ball forward, on his feet or with a pass. Berhalter clearly noticed it too because they gave him all the space he wanted but he didn't want any of that space.

He's absolutely the worst player in skc history. He's worse than Jeferson because this dude has been around for two seasons now and has given absolutely nothing.

Didn’t lose but it sure felt like it :(

:frown:  FC Wichita lost a heartbreaker.  Gave up a goal with only 4 minutes left.  I won't give up on the dream of playing an MLS team.

dream hard, dream long.

Apropos of nothing, I'd just like to say that I believe VAR should be removed from the game. Maybe that's a hot take to you guys and maybe I have old balls but that's how I feel.

i don't care too much either way.

17
i'm very mad that we've never won @ MNUN. Like very rough ridin' pissed.

19
Sloppy play through 35 min for sporting. 1-1 but more goals will be had.

Idk what you’re talking about. The biggest trophy in European club football is tomorrow.

The city of Madrid just won their first of two European titles this season. Congrats to Atleti and now on to Real.

And I say this probably once a year but Alexi Lalas is insufferable as a color commentator. I hope he doesn't get any WC matches.

Lalas is going to be a studio analyst.

Kansas State Football / Re: Bowl Projections
« on: May 16, 2018, 11:53:50 AM »
I'm not saying that at all, i'm just letting you know it happens sometimes. I hate having all of our bowl games in Texas. That state sucks ass.

if by all you mean less than half, but yeah, maybe in a perfect world we would still have the Holiday Bowl and not have one of the Texas Bowl or HoD Bowl, but every major conference except for the Big Ten have bowl game tie-ins inside of their footprint.

25
if history tells us anything its that a John Terry captained side isn't going to lose to Fulham. Villa will be back in the PL
