Wait is Bernie the dem establishment now? He is admittedly old as crap. But I think the establishment still hates him.

Imagine thinking of yourself as somewhat of a progressive and then constantly stepping up to defend 40 and 50 year establishment grifters over every little perceived slight.Couldn’t be me.
It’s very sad
Particularly sad is Lick’s post as a representative of a moment that has believed countless absolutely insane conspiracies.

4+ hours of awkward small talk with this cheap/hostile couple seems far more troublesome than $20That is the part that is upsetting him, not the $20. The $20 is the only leverage he feels he has over them, the only thing he can touch. But he has crucified himself for his child’s friend. Noble, but I think he could choose many other paths.

Netanyahu was fine with Hamas running Gaza before Oct 7. He supported it. If your point is that the stateless Gazan people had imperfect governance when Israel had a blockade of Gaza and controlled all of its borders, its air, seas, water, energy, economy and trade, and that was before the destroyed the whole place then I will agree the government was not perfect. They were dealt a pretty tough hand though.I've been told that everything is perfectly fine with the fundamentals of Gaza governance and it's just that pesky Hamas who keeps mucking it up for everyone.:
Who told you that
I believe it was KK when I brought up the notion of Gaza governance allowing Hamas to build a stronghold and grow.
This is the wayI'm curious BAC, if you were the hosting couple, how would you have handled the pizza situation? (in this hypo you ordered the pizzas and had the veggie one and leftovers and more expensive house and all that jazz)
honestly lib7 i would never even think to expect payment from people who i have invited to be a guest in my home. and if they offered to pay i would refuse, or if i didn't really like them very much and was only inviting them b/c i had to, i would say something like "eh you can just pick up the check next time! (but would forget i said that like 5 seconds later and would not, in fact, expect them to pick up the check next time)". I will admit, if they just absolutely insist on chipping in, like they won't let it go, i'm not going to die on that hill.
This has skyrocketed into my awarenessThat looks great. Haters mad, but what they don’t know CAN hurt them. You are trying to help them and still they don’t want to listen. Sad.
I loathe when people are too stupid to realize that the Republican Party and Democratic Party completely swapped sides since those days.
Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) sat down with Stephen Colbert this week to promote his new book It’s OK To Be Angry About Capitalism and was asked if he’ll miss Arizona senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), who announced this week that she would not be seeking re-election. “Not at all,” he told Colbert without missing a beat.
Sanders particularly took issue with Sinema’s lack of support on Biden’s Build Back Better plan, telling Colbert, “We worked with the president on something called Build Back Better,” he said. “We had zero Republican support. We had 48 people in the Democratic caucus prepared to transform this country on behalf of the working class of America.”
“Two people, Sinema being one, Manchin the other, refused to support it,” continued. “We couldn’t pass it. So no, I will not miss Senator Sinema.”
there isn't very much in american politics that is enjoyable currently, but one moment to savor occurred last night when california democrats told katie porter to get mumped.Absolutely cursed profile.

Deterrence mattersstrong enough to prevent anyone from invading the united states, sure. but much weaker than our current military. If preventing an invasion of the US is the objective you could cut way more than half.
What current military objectives couldn't be fulfilled if we cut the budget in half?
people that know way more about this stuff than i do think it would be pretty touch and go if we became involved in a war with china with the military as is, so i think it's fair to say that if we cut spending in half that we'd be in much worse shape on that front.
by the same token, we are running into hard limits on being able to send aid to ukraine without going below the levels of munitions (and in some cases weapons systems) we consider acceptable for our own use. so, again, seems pretty clear that cutting everything in half would make those limitations even more severe.
honestly, cutting the budget in half isn't even close to a realistic debate. you aren't doing that without violating treaty obligations, diplomatic promises, firing millions of people that signed up with the promise of a steady govt job, health care and pension, etc.
Arguing that we should sustain or increase our military budget so that we can be prepared for a war with China is a completely insane thing to say. What do people forsee a war with China looking like? Do they imagine it would be some kind of small contained thing? We are talking about two countries with massive nuclear arsenals. What are we even talking about? It should be avoided at nearly any cost for the sake of the entire planet's survival!

U.S. intelligence estimated that if Ukraine’s fighters managed to break through Russian defenses — and were on the march to the occupied Crimean Peninsula, where the Russian Black Sea Fleet is based — it came down to a coin flip whether or not Russia would launch a tactical nuclear weapon to stop them, senior administration officials said.
Impossible to have an issue with Klopp.

WelpYeah if Rashford makes it 2-0 I think you hold on. Still had a lot to do but had a few yards on the defender and green space between him and the goal.
Breathtaking strike from Rashford. Some fantastic United performances in that first half, but need a lot more from the likes of Garnacho and McTominay. City were really starting to click there at the end.You really find pep unlikable?
Pep is the absolute worst btw. Cannot wait to get him and the clown Klopp out of the game.
Well except for 1/4 of the Israeli population that aren't Jews
Also, I doubt Israel is neighborly enough to pay for it.Yeah the third part won’t happen right away but Israel will pay over time some other if that really is their plan to expel all the Palestinians and ethnically cleanse Israel from the river to the sea, whether in money, blood or both.
I favor a 3 part solution where Israel stops what they are doing, the neighbors take the refugees, and Israel pays the neighbors for their trouble.Good news!
