You don't do estimated taxes quarterly?  If you owe over a certain amount come filing time, you will also have to pay a penalty %.

Probably not doing anything wrong other than not being rich enough to get tax breaks, shelters, etc.

I'm amazed at how many people are willing to pay for professionals or software to do their taxes for them.  Unless you're rich with tons of assets and other rich people things, it doesn't seem very cost-effective.

No, pretty sure my biggest prob is taking standard deduction.

filed mine a couple weeks ago, but forgot I had a 1098 form coming to me. just got that today and should have received an additional 1,700. now i have to file an amended return and wait 2-3 months.

Anyone know a good CPA in Kansas City?  For some reason TaxCut keeps telling me I will get more if I file Married-filing separately.  Don't married people get a credit or some crap?  Same thing happened last year and I just ate it but I want to buy a yacht, and www.ksufans.com this year.

she may have done them but that doesn't mean that she did them correctly

Unless you have a multitude of investments and interest earning accounts or are divorced/self employed I don't see what you could screw up unless you just lied about stuff.
