Prius' are nice but the battery cost would sway me from buying one.

Shots of the goEMAW Prius in action will be good for the intro to get_HIT's goEMAW reality show.  How's that going by the way?

And the good news: The Prius battery is designed for at least 100,000 miles, and the vast majority do just that.

exactly.  i talked to a mechanic that really knows his stuff, he thinks the 100k is a bigtime underestimate.

Yup but its not like changing a timing belt on a honda or toyota at 100xxxmiles that cost 100 dollars.
They just don't seem cost effective yet until they lower there costs on either the cars or on the batteries.

I agree.  They are close to cost effective if you do a lot of city driving, but not quite there.  Not far off though, the decision comes down to are you willing to spend a bit more to help the environment.

yeah, it's a little more than 100 dollars to change a timing belt on a honda and you also need to change the water pump at the same time. prob somewhere around six hundred.

why the eff wouldn't you include labor?  did they start making belts/pumps that install themselves?  LOL at your dumbass $100 estimate and stupid reason for not driving a hybrid.  there's a myriad of good reasons not to drive a hybrid.  you should pick one that actually makes sense.

You broke my heart get_HIT.  Broke it and stomped on it.  If this plate is on some red neck truck with rubber testicles hanging from the bumper I will drive down there I will destroy you (in a BBS sense, not in real life)

Thought you were referring to a commemorative plate.  Got exited, then there was the BS about your fracking car.  Who cares about that?
 :driving: :chainsaw:

Actually, Doom is working on a series of commemorative plates featuring each of the moderators in gladiator attire.  This aren't for everyday use, these are intended for wall hanging or other display in a place of prominence.

This never happened
