Intermittent Fasting

Anyone ever tried it? I have a couple of friends who are personal trainers and they said it's way more effective that the 5-small-meals-a-day plan.

i don't really enjoy eating when i'm not hungry, so the eating five meals idea seems stupid, except for hummingbirds or shrews.

It was stupid for a lot of reasons. But that's definitely one of the main ones.

I fast but for religious reasons.  No, I'm not a Christer ... I'm something else.
I'm not a psychopath.  I'm a high-functioning sociopath.  Do your research.

Know a guy that fasts one day of the week, but he's old and does it for his digestive system

I know a guy that does it and loves it, says it gives him more strength.  Is this info doing anything for you?

I was pretty set on doing it before I started this thread. But not hearing any anti-IF comments on here pretty much made it official. That and Saul's book/program suggestion (thanks Saul).

Yeah check out this guy. He's pretty much the authority on this argument. The whole idea of fasting is a calorie deficit. The cool thing about his fasting program is that it doesn't have to be all day. You could stop eating at 7 on tuesday then eat again at 7 on wed. It just has to be 24 hours. But the day before you fast you can eat almost whatever you want.

There is a good possibility Gary Patterson is my biological father.

If you are going to try it, I recommend planning out exactly what you will eat for dinner at the time you break your fast. It is very easy to overeat after you haven't eaten in 24 hours.

Where did you get that overnight bag?

12 p.m to 12 p.m seems ideal to me, you get breakfast and lunch then you skip dinner sleep through the middle of it and miss breakfast but lunch isn't too far out
