Hubener
« on: October 03, 2015, 07:43:23 PM »
He is awful.  3-9 with an int.  4 rushes for 8 yards.  I think we were all giving Hubener a bit of a pass because of the perceived lack of talent at WR but then a WR came in to play QB and didn't seem to have any trouble finding open WR's.  Hubener is probably worst QB we've had since AE.

He went on the game winning drive.

Then our ST kicked the ball out of bounds, our D gave up a 4th and 8 conversion and oSu continued to drive down the field for a chip shot FG.

That drive was essentially one play, it seems clear that he can't consistently move the ball without getting a bomb and he isn't dynamic enough in the QB run game to be a legitimate threat.

The take away from this game for me is how in the world is he the starting QB?

It was really odd at the end of the first half when normally we'd sit on the ball, Snyder decides to go for points with Cook at QB. And Cook looked good doing it. He's way better at finding receivers and throwing it to short or intermediate routes than Bazooka.

Cook's play today makes me wonder more about Delton and Banks and if they are awful or is Dimel #Samsing them too.

He does't have enough raw talent to run a large enough portion of the playbook. He doesn't make the people around him better. BTW, our failures at recruiting O-Line tackles is one of the coaching staffs biggest issue.

Yeah. It's all so weird. I think Dimel might have early onset alzheimers. Over the course of halftime he forgot everything thay got him a lead and apparently thought Chad May was our QB.

Oline was just fine until Cook dislocated his shoulder after a 30 yard run and that was the best D line in the conference maybe the nation.

Those six straight drop back passes to start the second half after two defensive stops absolutely lost us the game, no doubt in my mind.

That's not what I said and it wasn't my observation either, I don't know crap about evaluating lines like 99.999% of people watching college football. I also heard three of those guys are getting drafted.

So did Cook dislocate his shoulder or separate it? Looked dislocated.  Maybe a really bad sprain?  :crossfingers:

He is the QB because this staff didn't recruit for crap, and ran off a kid because Dana Dimel didn't like his high stepping.   When your options after Ertz, are:

The slowest converted receiver in history.

A Freshman

A JC Transfer who just got to campus.

Several other nobodies.

You haven't recruited for crap.

JR and SR respective recruiting class our Garbage. Yes they have a couple of nice players but the depth is crap. Sophomore and freshmen classes seem to be better. Hard to tell with the freshmen. Senior class is really really ugly.

They recruited fine, next season we will have the best QB from Iowa in his year, the best QB from Kansas in his year, and the best QB from Missouri in his year who nearly was an elite 11 QB. They've made plenty of mistakes we can crap on, this isn't one.

That's next year, why are we pointing to next year, at year 6 of Snyder II?
