 i heard he is still on the team. i also heard the reason will davis was pissed and wanted to leave (or did he actually leave?) was bc moore was gonna be gone all summer taking care of his family sitch, and davis was all like, "eff this, why i am gonna run myself into the ground all summer just for moore to come back and beat me out come fall."

If it's true that Moore could be gone all summer then jump back over Davis in camp, that would be great.  I don't believe it though.

If Pringle beats his guy by 5 yards, that puts the defender in perfect position to intercept a pass from our QBs.  A little concerned about this.

That is exactly the post I anticipated making when you responded and asked me how they were.  Saul, Mixed-Nutz & I attended the isu one last year and had a blast for non-victory-vs.-isu reasons.

If Pringle beats his guy by 5 yards, that puts the defender in perfect position to intercept a pass from our QBs.  A little concerned about this.

The Burton version of this is beat your guy by 5 yards and then completely just stonehandedly not even close drop the pass that comes to you. And then follow it up by catching the dying quail Hubener throws on the next play, but like 3 yards out of bounds bc it's such a terrible pass.

I don't have any tidbits out of there.  I live a long way from Manhattan nowadays.  Only thing I have is personal observations from people that were there and nothing earth shattering or that hasn't already been said.  Pringle looks really good.  Ertz spins the ball really well and had more reps than the other 2.  Could mean he is on track to win the starting nod again, could mean they are trying to bring him back to speed.  Offense was taking the defense to the woodshed at times, again, could be based off what they were running and how they were running it, could be the offense is much better, or the defense has taken a step back.  Guess you can choose the most likely scenario to believe in.  Practices seemed to be less intense than in previous years.  Maybe a philosophy change or they were just dumbing them down because outsiders were there.

My dad was at a coaches clinic at The Bill today. I'll hit the key points of what I recall.
1) I hate my job for me not being able to attend with him
2) Ertz is number 1 on the depth chart and I can't remember but I'm fairly certain he said delton is 2 and Joe 3. He said Ertz and Alex looked great and and Joe looked the same. Also said everyone is very high on Skyler, he can really throw and is very quick. He will red shirt
3) he wasn't able to watch or recognize to many players aside from QBs but he said (and he always says this) that most of the players he saw were small, and don't look like D1 football players. He has been on that kick since the OU game, and he is probably right but I'm not sure he would admit otherwise at this point anyways.

That's all I got, nothing earth shattering but O figured I'd pass it along. He says Vanier is top notch. He hasn't been in a lot of D1 facilities, maybe 8-10 but it's the best he has seen and by a fair margin.

Ertz number 1 makes sense based on him getting more reps.  I didn't really get any info about the other qb's but it sounded like Ertz was numero uno at this time.  The thing we talked about the most was the fact the defense was getting scorched by the offense.  Especially the secondary.  To a point where there was general concern about the quality of it.  Considering the number returning on that side of the ball I would have expected the opposite.  I take it with a grain of salt because it is only a couple practices and you never know what the setup is, but it is still very worrisome to me because I'm struggling to believe the passing game is that much improved even with Pringle apparently being a stud.

how many starters that return is an overused talking about when you're talking about a defense that wasn't that good in the first place. returning starts is great when those starters have proven to be good, but this defense has been average at best so why would we suddenly expect them to kick ass? one offsesason? nah, man.
