Well, if you followed along in this thread, we had a debate a few pages back between lists with Freeman ahead of Waters due to records, success, etc. It was nice to see a refreshing post from someone else who might think the sameway that I do. You think you're tired of my posts? Try reading about a thousand of opposition posts everyday on this board and then get back to me. It was relevant.

ive read this entire thread, jake is a good college qb you wont find that many who will argue that. but to continue to seek validation is sad

may was a badass caflifornia bread gunslinger w/ an attitude and the fact that none of you dorks know that or anything about him kind of saddens me. so here goes...

may put kstate on the map w/ it's first bowl game under snyder and it's first 9 win season. then he followed it up with another bowl game and another 9 win season. also, this was back when the regular season was 11 games.

he was drafted in the 4th round of the nfl draft.

he lead the big 8 in passing yards and passing touchdowns both years he played.

he also finished seventh in rushing touchdowns one year.

he only lost four regular season games in two years. two to nebraska who won the national championship one of those years and lost in the national championship game the other. he also lost one to colorado that finished 3rd nationally. so four losses in two years and three of them were to teams that finished the bowl season ranked in the top 3.

waters over may? maybe the dumbest thing i've read on here in the last year.

very good May summary - I think most here are too young to understand how good he was

Beasley is also getting a shitload too much credit here

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Here's the thing (I remember you had a favorable view of Carsy too) he wasn't a terrible player and the 2010 offense was actually pretty solid even though he got constantly critiqued (some of it earned). The 2010 offense was 3rd in points per play since 2000. 4th in plays per TO. 6th in yards per play. Overall probably the 4th or 5th best offense (from some pretty good offenses) since 2000 from Snyder coached teams.
Yeah.  But I always tend to handicap CCQ because Daniel Thomas was on the team.

I've never seen a single running back (Sproles included) carry an offense like DT did.

Nebraska hired some NFL coaches as consultants to try to figure out how to stop May in his senior season.

Good rankings in this thread. I'd say if Waters somehow beat KU, Baylor, and won the bowl game you could make a serious case for him as 4th best KSU QB in Snyder's tenure.

If that happens Waters would be the most accomplished, no doubt.

I would still want to put him no higher than 3rd

He won two.  Bishop's team lost the Alamo in 1998 and The Roberson/Dunn Project lost the Insight in 2001.  Beasley was a two-year starter ('99 and 2000).  Redshirted in 1998.

There would probably be more value placed in winning bowl games if this was still a thing:

So, Beasley won two bowls and one conference championship?

No.  In 1999, K-State was the Co-North Division Champs with Nebraska, but the 'Fuskers played for the Conference Championship because they defeated us 41-15 and went on the beat Texas in the rematch for the Big XII Title.  We lost to Oklahoma 27-24 in the 2000 Conference Championship Game.

Waters only gets most accomplished if he beats a P5 team in the bowl game - a win over Boise in the Fiesta or Marshall in Cotton won't do it

That said, winning a ten team rr league with only one loss with only 4 home games is >>> than a division title
