Tied for lead going into fourth round tomorrow.  Would be huge win......keep his tour card for another year.

It’s a pretty weak field tho. Everyone was in Scotland this past weekend. Still happy for him either way.

The $700k purse wouldn't be a bad consolation either...

Field is strong enough that a win would get him top 125 in fed ex cup standings, which means he would keep his tour card for next season.  That’s worth even more than the 700g

That didn't go well today.  Back to grinding in the fall season tournaments.

Correct me if I'm wrong (because there are so many intricacies to the level of card, etc.), but I believe he will lose his card in September?

Possibly sponsor exemptions to play in the smaller tourneys in the fall or what?

Huge win for Streb yesterday.  As I understand it, winning that web.com tournament allowed him to "regain" the pga tour card that he had lost by not being in the top 125 of the fed ex cup this year.  So, I think he can play in all pga tour events next year (except majors, players, and wgc, which have their own qualification criteria).

To be honest, I'm not sure how it works.  The articles about his win yesterday said it allowed him to regain/retain his tour card for next season.  I'm not sure why....perhaps this event was the equivalent of a "major" on the web.com tour.  (He got 16 world golf ranking points for his win, which is pretty high for a web.com event.)

To put that 16 world golf ranking points in perspective, he got about 16 points for finishing 7th in the 2016 PGA Championship.  So a pretty good haul yesterday.

It did.

You've got to finish in the web.com regular season top 25 to get a card, or finish in the top 25 (or maybe it's 20) in their playoffs. That was the first playoff tourney so it guaranteed he will finish in the top 25 in the playoffs, even without playing the rest of them (he can rest or play them, I guess?)

He had lost his card and was forced to the web playoffs as his last chance. It's awesome, really happy for him.
