Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: NIT
« on: March 19, 2024, 11:52:56 PM »
It'll be interesting to see who returns.  We'll probably have a big turnover and that's probably not a terrible thing.

We will lose a ton.  This is going to be nuts.  Would love to keep buddy.  The rest are just parts

wut? Buddy should be like 6th or 7th on the priority list of players to return. My guess is, we'll have 6 or 7 defections, counting the three players who are out of eligibility.

Iowa doesn’t have basketball fans I guess? This has got to be the quietest venue we’ve played at all year.

Being able to hear the shoes squeaking do loudly was annoying as hell

I think a very large part of it is the absolute rough ridin' shitshow the Nebraska BOR has made of the state academic institutions. There's a reason the president, chancellor, and provost all got the eff out. the BOR is supposed to name a priority candidate for the pres. job tomorrow. You can rest assured it'll be some shithead (unless they've learned their lesson).

I read that people think he was making reference to the DEI stuff but he's going to Texas and Texas A&M who will almost certainly cut DEI as well. Apparently there's talk within college athletics that states who are explicit in eliminating DEI programs will have some difficulties with recruiting. I have serious doubts about that.

At home, Colorado's lost 6 of their last 8, they play a slow pace, Lee will have a 3 inch height advantage against their center, they're not really great in any particular area (though they do shoot it fairly well from 3 pt) - this is as good of a draw to get to the Sweet 16 as we could have asked for.

After that - arguably the toughest of all 4 brackets.
Am I missing something? Wouldn't you say that the bracket containing S. Carolina is the toughest?

I think he means depth of teams at the regional. South Carolina is one of the best teams of all time, they will win the national championship. Unfortunately, I will have us losing to LSU in the regional final. Having to play the second best team in the country to get to the final four after beating the best player is unfortunate.

That would put him in his 70s!

GET IN LADS WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLEY

32
I keep forgetting how horny ISU is for this tournament. Sucks we had to go up against them for our de facto play in game.

Even if we won we wouldn't have gotten in with all the bid thieves this year. The bubble shrank like crazy.

Wild ass match, would have been incredible to see in person.

If Fran says “Big Rob Energy” one more time, I will lose it.

God yes

35
So stupid

Tang needs to spend the offseason working on ballhandling -- both the players ability to take care of the  and his coaching ball security.

Or just recruit better ball handlers
Camo and Dai Dai probably start at guard, unless Castillo (sp?) is really good. Both are way to sloopy with the ball. Cam is unexcuseably careless for an upperclassman with in oncourt experience. It doesn't matter who we bring in if those two don't get much better handling the ball.

Carter's issue is that he is asked to do too much because there aren't enough scorers. No one complained about or even noticed carelessness from him last season because he was usually the 4th or 5th scoring option. We don't need ball handling practice, we need scorers

100%

Also eff Vic Schaefer, rough ridin' gnome. He walked in front of me on Saturday night and I wanted to push him down.

I'm physically ill, like my stomach is queasy. Going through all the stages of grief, but acceptance, all at once. Actually furious with both Mittie and our guards for the way we handled that third quarter. We should have won that rough ridin' game. Period.

This would be bad ass

LOL, I should know better than to listen to Rovell, at any time. They can't do crap with this practice field. Beautiful setting though. K-State played at that soccer field a couple of seasons ago.

40
Interesting idea and they probably should've just rebuilt their stadium there somehow. Any rendos?

Not yet

Isn't Harry & Izzy's just St. Elmo's for people who can't/wont pay St. Elmo's prices, like the same menus and recipes?

42
Didn't know that about him and the African players :nono:

I don't care about the doping, at all

Ladycats currently ranked #16 in the Coaches Poll. Will one win in KC clinch home games in the Torn-a-ment or do they need a win in the semis also?

Coaches poll is of zero significance. We are 14th in the net right now. I think a win on Saturday night gets us a top 16 seed, two wins absolutely locks it up. Win the Big 12 and we might move up to a 2 seed. Of course none of these things are in a vacuum, what happens in the WCC, Big 10, ACC, and Pac 12 conference tournaments is really important.

I really enjoy this team. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one. Need more bucket getters but they always try hard

I enjoy them, Rusty

46
We have some psycho fans on Twitter who already seem very BID, at least to me.
Not the least bit surprising, for a multitude of reasons and it's just not people with active twitter accounts either

Is St. Elmo's the only restaurant worth a crap in Indy? I swear to God that every NFL, NBA, and college basketball coach and media member talks about that place. Gotta be the #1 place for sports nerds to see sports famous people

48
The Philly goal had them celebrating right in front of me in the cauldron which was annoying.  A buddy got hit in the back with a beer.  A Philly player threw beers back and some guy next to me was trying to get security to help him press charges.
People on twitter were down on the cauldron for throwing crap. While I would have not thrown anything, those players can't be taunting angry, emotional fans like that and act like they aren't going to get people who are going to act on those emotions.

49
Love Pep, hate City. I hate Klopp and his horse teeth. Arteta is a whiny bitch.
