Essentially Flyertalk / Defeating Bike Cops

moose, is your 'ship in manhattan? is this where you got hosed by super-toned-calf bike cop?

No but I'm living in manhattan and I have been since 2000 so I've been seeing citizens get worked by those cankle-y bastards since I was a baby Moosedog.

how do you know if they are trying to pull you over? like, waving their hands or something? just pretend you can't see them and drive away at normal car speed.

Don't try to pull that one, I've tried it. Apparently they "hear that crap every day".

This thread is designed to create an unbeatable plan for escaping bike cops. Let's face it, nobody wants to lose to a scrub cop that isn't even allowed to have a car.

Opening idea (please shoot down/indicate holes): Let bike cop walk up to car and he hopefully won't write down LPN yet because he trusts that you're stopping for him. Then when he pedals up on his little trike, throw your stud car in speedy reverse mode because KS doesn't have front LPNs and he can't read it. Whip around 180 once he is out of LPN reading range.

Note: this plan is designed only for beating bike cops in states where you can sport a cool/unique front plate w/o LPN (aka not Missouri)

you dont work in my office because youre not a floodaggie or squawk. but seriously... stop doing crap so fast. just take your time. youre not impressing anyone. slow and steady wins the race.

good luck with the 'ship, hope they give you an offer!

Thank you. Don't worry I don't try to go fast anymore, that was only the first few days because I thought I needed to work that hard. Quickly realized it was totally unnecessary and nobody around me was working nearly as hard. It's a weird change going from school (where I have to work hard) to this.

I'm just a little baby intern scrub, but I always finish my work faster than they expect and they run out of stuff for me so then I get on goEMAW and have fun with you guys. So one could say I'm pretty good at my job.

You may be a stud, but what you describe is more of a bad boss than anything.

Nah my boss is a stud/boss. It'll get better, they probably just haven't gotten used to having interns to worry about providing with work.

Probably not. How many interns do you have in your office?

Driving behind someone who throws out their cigarette butt and it flies back and hits your car. Happens to me about every other day.

Voice changes while on the phone. Women's voices go up, the guys' voices go down. Super annoying if you are with a person you know well, listening to them do their fake voice to the unknown rough rider on the other line. I'd say it occurs in ~80% of people and I really hope I don't do it.

« on: January 12, 2013, 06:40:16 PM »
A cold can of soda is far superior to soda in any other form and its not even close.  I rarely buy cans because they're so delcious that I don't trust myself to not drink them like they're the last sodas on earth.

Could not agree more, and hate when people don't understand and take the 'soda is soda, dumbasses' approach.

Can we talk about how awesome the pop machines are at the Goodcents in MHK?? simply the best.

They're incredible.  Planet Sub is by far my favorite sub place in that area but there have been a few times I've eaten at Goodcents just because I wanted to play with drink combinations.
the absolute worst.
Definitely agree that they are terrible.  So watered down and infused with other sodas.  Great idea...would probably love if they didn't shaft us hard on the syrup.  Also the flavor additions of cherry, vanilla, etc. make any of your favorite pops taste like liquid medicine!  I'm appalled that anyone likes these terribly designed wannabe futuristic flops, and for anyone who does, try this: bring a can of your favorite soda to one of the establishments that wasted their money on one of these and compare it to the crap that machine outputs when you push your favorite soda's button.  Save some money and dissatisfaction, bring your food home, and drink a can of your own pop (or beer) with your meal.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / WVU bball atmosphere
« on: January 12, 2013, 03:17:02 PM »
Weird place.  Really fails IMO as a Big XII hoops setting.  Obviously Tech, TCU, etc. are far worse, but WVU has no excuse to be when they've been a fairly regular tournament team since Huggie arrived.

1. Random boos at random times, esp. booing Rodney every time he touches the ball (can someone explain that besides the he's-our-best-player factor?)
2. Zombie nation and Cha Cha slide "everbody clap your hands" made it feel like a 1990s baseball game.
3. The weakest Sandstorm and Seven Nation Army that I've seen in the last 2 years in college hoops.
4. Shitty mascot, shitty fans.

Add to the list or just comment

Would love a gif of Shane packing the crap out of that last shot.  And/or his walking off the court yelling like a boss after he does it.

Why should oscar get a drink?  :bill: never got a drink, frank never got a drink, and let's face it...every drink was Bob Huggins' drink

IMHO 50 games a season is STILL too many in any sport. 38 (EPL) is the maximum amount to keep fans truly invested in every game. NBA, NHL, and MLB should all shorten their respective seasons to gain more ratings, popularity and respect. It would work for me.

Winter Park. Took a lesson the first day. Instructor was really fun. Learned some basics. Most important being ditching yourself before you crash into something or someone.

On day 2 I fell over probably 20 times. Getting back up is exhausting.

On day 4 finally got a feel for my edges figured out parallel turns/stops but my body started breaking down. Day 5 started to trust myself with some speed. Day 6 was really feeling it And took down some easy blues after juicing hardcore with Advil to blast through some of the knee pain.

Condo had a hot tub which helped with nightly recovery. Hot tubs are basically my favorite thing.

Got altitude sickness maybe on the 2nd night and yakked my brains out.

Got drunk off 1/2 the normal amount of drinks.

Had several elite high speed wipeouts

LOVE that you skied 6 DAYS on your first ski trip. Completely agree that hot tubs are the best thing in the world and plan to get one as soon as I am  :kstategrad:. Thanks for sharing.

I just got back from my first ski trip. It was incredible and I may consider becoming a ski person (bunny?)
I must say it is impressive that you enjoyed your FIRST ski trip, as it usually takes several forced trips for most to appreciate the beauty of skiing. Where did you ski? Tell us all about the experience, for that is what this thread is about. Also mods I thought skiing is a sport but if you think auntie maes board is more appropriate, feel free to move.

For all of the  :kstategrad: happening around the world, I'm truly shocked that there is no thread about skiing.  I am currently fortunate enough to be on a ski trip with scottwildcat, Spaces, 3maw and SliceOfLime in Breckenridge, and it is an amazing time.  Any comments, raves, suggestions, notions, criticisms, jokes, commentaries, narratives, or preferences about skiing should be shared on this thread!
