Retro-Arcade
« on: September 29, 2017, 09:26:34 AM »
I'm getting ready to build myself one of these bad boys:

Mine, of course, is going to be Wildcat themed.

Anyone else tackled one of these before?

Yeah, thats the plan.  With the retro-pi image.

I was going to piece this out but I found this site:

https://gameroomsolutions.com/

Looks like I can get all the pieces from them (minus the monitor) for around 400.00

I may go with the Deluxe kit with all the guts and graphics (minus the 22" monitor) looks to be around 600.00

I'm definitely going with the chrome T-molding and probably the white led buttons and clear led joysticks.

I need some quality gE msPaint experts to mock this up for me though:

Seems like a fun project.  The amount of things you can do with a raspberry pi is incredible

Does it make you feel any better to know that your $50 donation (my eventual fantasy football winnings) will go to fund this project?   :billdance:

i like the kstate0 idea but maybe a video board that plays catlab videos on a loop would be better

RetroPie is really nice. You can emulate just about anything if you have a nice enough PC. A raspberry pi will work really well for anything up the the SNES, but if you want to emulate PS1 or N64 games, it gets a little iffy. The next model will probably perform better, and I think the aim is to keep it priced around $35, but I don't think it comes out until 2019.
