It's definitely a lol case that they think is true. It's a billion $ project. We're not getting Amazon, so they're just parroting slys plans.

Bud, you're intentionally ignorant on the subject. They literally can't use tax money to build it.

I honestly have no idea how this is gonna work. I have tomorrow off to be their with my mom as she sells off the land she grew up on. I just have a hard time believing our tax $'s won't be hit on this. Again, I'm naive and am as assuming at this point.

Southwest donated 50k to the pro kci terminal election side and will be in KC Friday assuming to drum up voter support.

Freedom Inc has also sent out a pro new kci terminal educational document.

I think stating that there is no risk to tax payers is a bit deceiving

"The project will be fully financed by airport and airline revenues, not tax dollars."  Airport revenues = ticket surcharges.  https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2017/09/21/kci-single-terminal-edgemoor-advances.html

Tip for MCI opponents - bitch about the uncertain ticket surcharges (legitimate issue).  If $50 is going to be tacked onto every ticket, voters should be aware of this in before the vote.  But, unless the ballot languages requests approval of a tax, MCI will not be financed by a tax.

New terminals in other cities has not led to increase in ticket prices for those markets.

I feel like ticket prices are so volatile anyway it would be hard to know that

The data presented in 2016 from San Jose, Indy, Sacramento, and kci when cost per enplanned passenger goes up, it doesn't impact flight costs and still closely follows avg domestic airfare costs. Starts on page 19 in link below.  These fees are only 7% of airlines operating expenses explains why it doesn't impact customer costs.

http://flykci.com/media/1434/23feb16-airport-committee-air-service-plus-financing-plan.pdf

There has even been talk of expenses going down for airlines with a new terminal that could be much more energy efficient for example.
