I prefer my Manhattans with rye, up, 2 to 1 whiskey/vermouth. Controversial opinion but I'm not a big Maker's Mark fan. The only wheated bourbons I've ever cared for are those of the Weller/Van Winkle line.

I did 1.5 oz maker's with 1 oz vermouth and a few splashes of bitters. I like rye as well, but this cask strength was on a major sale that I couldn't pass up.

If LHC Bill Snyder had been hired at KU years ago, we'd have a national championship in football and a couple more BCS bowls. - beems

What's the report on it, Tom?

I'm sipping Buffalo Trace on the front porch this evening.

TBT...

I was asking Tom for his thoughts on his whiskey which was not in his post.

Perhaps, try reading again and correcting your post.

I read it, but I forgot the bold tags around the buffalo trace part. My bad.

We don’t have a rum thread but I got this and brought it back to the states. Anyone had it?  I’m pretty excited to have a glass while smoking some Cuban cigars that I also brought back.

Picked up a bottle of Oban Little Bay for the absurdly low sale price of $39.99. Not bad, the finish is a bit spicy tho.

I finished my bottle of Trace during the Cats' game. Time to go shopping for a vacation bottle. Need a good bourbon for the beach.

My rotation... Buffalo Trace, Kentucky Gentleman, Four Roses, Elijah Craig.

Tried some Rebel Yell a couple bottles ago. Not bad.

Thinking I'll grab a Bulleit Rye or a Booker for the trip.
