I feel so limited when I’m on a computer now, someone posts before me there a delay, photobucket being dead it’s and stuff, Tapatalk being so great now I almost feel alone because I never see who else is in the threads I post in.

Did a 53 mile ride with this hack today.  Pretty disappointed in myself as I did not know the route and got caught in a split on a big downhill on a blind turn.  That was at mile 20.  Spent 15 miles soloing and then remainder of the ride leading a charge of 4 other riders that were spit out the back of the lead group and hitched onto me as I was passing.  We worked well together but finished just under 6 minutes down of Lance or 1 mile an hour below his pace.

And the riding was brutal.  2000' + gain and winds of 25mph with gusts over 40.  Happy with my 19.3 ave pace but could have done much better if I was trading turns during those solo miles.

Very sweet. Did you end up making a decision on Ti Bikes? Moonmen would be another one id check out if I was going the custom route. Would also be cool to look into a custom steel ride like Retrotec or Sklar.

I have not.  I am thinking 6-12 months before I pull the trigger.  I will check them out.

Pisgah is pretty amazing. The amount of stuff in Brevard, NC supporting MTBing is fantastic.  Dupont was great too.  Very flowy, lots faster then I expected.

You do get that there is bike culture outside of hipsters right? Not saying that the bike culture created by fixed gears is fundamentally flawed or anything like that, but just because someone likes bikes doesn't automatically make them wear rolled up jeans and and deep v's. also: brooks does not belong to the hipster movement. Maybe you are just jaded by San fran?

OK, now that I am work and have a little free time, you deserve to be slapped for this. I'm fully aware that non-hipsters. I mean seriously? I think it's all hipsters? Here are the classes I see regularly:

Fixie hipsters: Complete dangerous assholes - they cut in line at red lights and then try to run them if possible. eff these guys
young casual professionals: Public bikes are really popular with women in this category. the men like classic frame road bikes (this is what I pictured asava fitting into).
folding bikers: they have these obnoxious commuter folding bikes so they can take them on trains at busy times. they look like complete morons when they ride off. eff these guys and their dorky ways
middle aged parents: these people ride like a mile on bike lane roads to the train station and look like they're on a bike safari - packs on each side of the back wheel, neon safety vest, reflective strap for their pantleg, flashing light on helmet and backpack. Usually a big ass trek bike or something, lots of them with empty baby seats. HEY LOOK, DAD'S ON A BIKE.
weekenders: these guys are usually in their full suits and crazy expensive road bikes. they often drive to go to the highway they are riding their bike. Pretty good about traffic laws except for 4 way stops. (most bikes are bad, but these clowns are the worst).
mexicans: Usually riding a chrome kid's bike in the bike lane on the wrong side of the road

There are more, (especially black kids in East Oakland) but this is a pretty good summary.

 :surprised:

You are different from the middle aged parent I described way back when. You're a casual family  weekender with a trailer or a ride behind on your way to your local town festival downtown. (Suburban downtown, not real downtown)
