Do Las Vegas deals go here, or on one of the many Las Vegas related threads?  Anyway, here is a good deal I found.  New members at the Tropicana get up to $200 in losses from slot machines reimbursed on the first day thier membership is activated.  It's on the tropicana website.  If anybody else has any good Las Vegas deals, let me know.

Always go Tuesday and leave Friday.  Flights are cheaper, hotels are cheaper, and the place is less busy because the Californians usually drive in on Friday and leave on Sunday.

The shows suck (mainly because the real headliners are there Friday and Saturday), but really, if all you were going to do was watch Cirque de Soleil, you'll see it for less if you go during the week.

Anyway, my wife and I went in the middle of the week a few years back and had a really good time.  It wasn't a ghost town or anything, but we never had any problems waiting at a restaurant, waiting in line for an attraction, etc.  And because there are so few people, you can go to those 1/2 price ticket counters and save a crapload on shows.  You can pretty much see whatever you want for a lot less.

Don't go to Vegas on the cheap.

The 200 slots deal is pretty common at properties of a certain caliber or lower.  May not be on all the websites, but you'll see it there.  On the downside, you'll be playing slots, which is really no fun for anyone.

^ the only good slot game...I prefer craps or roulette...

I would second Tahoe, beautiful, great skiing, gamey type things to do.  Probably could snowshoe/hike/x-c ski if someone wasn't into downhill.

oh yeah, roulette is basically a slot machine.  there is no system or way that improves your odds at all.  when very pak'd in March our entire group sat down at a roulette table and I described our elaborate betting system to some other random people at the table.  I kept making up strange percentages and reasonings for why we bet how we did.  we bounced back and forth between playing red and black based on these random reasons.  "Always play black after a prime number.  takes away .25% of the house advantage!" Then our entire group would all play black.

lol yup.  i like the idea of making up fake strategies when faced with a game so stupid that there is no strategy.

can't blame slu for playing it though, she's a women and they tend to like games like roulette.

My bro uses this a lot when he travels.  Seems to get dece deals for what sound like nice places.  I am looking into a San Diego or Chicago trip for this summer with this.  Haven't really spent much time on it yet, though, FWIW.

I like roulette.  I played it once.  Put $1200 on black.  Black hit.  Then I went and played a bunch of blackjack.  The people who were actually sitting down and playing roulette looked kind of mad when I bet once, doubled up, then walked away.

lol at the roulette rubes...

You know nothing of splitting up bets to cover multiple numbers...also, bet the thirds (the vertical columns), the first 3rd (1-12?) never seems to hit.

this is a great example of some of the made up rules we were telling everyone at the table to follow that didn't improve the odds at all

In lieu of previously planned Dominican Republic trip, I am going to the Ozarks next weekend for three days.  I will be doing no Ozarking, per se.  My day will be the following each day:

1.  Arise at around 10am
2.  Eat at breakfast buffet at resort
3.  Lay out at pool and read book and drink
4.  Light lunch
5.  Nap
6.  Hour long massage at resort's spa
7.  Get ready for dinner
8.  Eat the dinner (at resort)
9.  Drink in resort's bar
10.  Bed time
