Essentially Flyertalk / Help lopak spend $5,000.00
« on: October 16, 2015, 04:36:28 PM »
So I've got some money just laying around and I don't know what to do with it.  Here's the catch though, it can't be used for anything practical like stuff for the house or investing.  This is purely discretionary.  Should I buy a lot of little things, one big thing or save up for an even bigger thing?

I was thinking if I save for another year I would have almost $10,000 and you know what I could buy that I've always wanted?  A car but not just any car.  This would be a restore it on the weekend car.  I don't have any experience restoring cars, but my neighbor does!  He's got all sorts of cool stuff that I bet he'd let me use.  I even saw an engine lifter so I would save tons of money on tools which could be used on the car.  What kind of car should I restore?  A buddy of mine from h.s. had a 68 Firebird, I always liked that car.

The KU fans at work seem really upset today.  I mean totally gloomy doomy.  I wish there was something I could do to make them feel better :frown:

Guys, I know a lot of you are married, and combined we've probably had like a thousand anniversaries.  So when I realized that today is my ninth wedding anniversary, I immediately came here.  How do you say "Yes, I may have forgotten our anniversary this year, but it's cool because you forgot it last year?"

The traditional anniversary gift for nine years is leather.  I'm not buying her another Coach purse.  But hey, I'm open to any other suggestions.  Time is of the essence.

We all know to be considered a blue blood you have to have at least four national championships.  IMO there couldn't be a more deserving school than Uconn to join the club.  So who will be the seventh member?  Probably Louisville.

Since the hilarious things at your office thread got locked.  I'm starting my own.  Today was Buffalo Wild Wings day at work.  Most of those trays are two and three deep.  We went through several thousand wings   :D

Denver, I hate them.  I don't care if they have more Big 12 players on their roster than Seattle.  I just really rough ridin' hate Denver.   I hate horse face John Elway, I hate Peyton Manning for going to Denver,  I hate the University of Colorado, even though Boulder is pretty fun.  I really hate cold weather.

you "Hey let's go to Colorado and go skiing and freeze our asses off."
me "No thanks, I'd rather go to a beach, drink tropical drinks and go scuba diving."

Editors note: I actually like skiing, but seriously eff Denver.  :don'tcare:

Editors editors note: level 5.5

I've got three.  One of them I am happy with.  Two of them I got in college and I regret.  I can't decide if I want to pay $2000 to get them removed or $200 to get them covered up.  I'd set up a poll but I don't know how to, so please post your vote below and I will keep tally.

So I left work early today to pick up my daughter at school and just as I was leaving the school I got pulled over for going 41 (allegedly) in a 25 mph school zone and have a $380 ticket now.  I really don't think I was going that fast. I had just turned out of the school parking lot and I drive a Lexus hybrid, it's not a fast car.  I didn't check my spedometer immediately tho because I didn't notice him until I had stopped a couple hundred feet later at a red light.

Since 50% of the moderators and posters here are lawyers or law students this should be a relatively simple task.  Court date is 10/23.

I want to hear all about your weekend plans.  We've got a three day weekend coming up.  It's gonna be great!  We are heading down to the Ozarks for three fun filled days and nights of drinking without the kids.

What are you guys doing this weekend?

So I had pneumonia for the past three and half weeks.  Spent six days and five nights in the hospital.   I don't know what's worse, pneumonia or the hospital.  I had a couple total bitch nurses, the tv was too small, the bed was uncomfortable, the other guy in my room snored.  It was the worst, just the absolute worst.  Not to mention the fact that I had rough ridin' pneumonia.  Also, I think I might be addicted to pain killers now.

There was this one patient there, not sure exactly what she was sick with but she was on suicide watch and she was certifiably insane.  She was a few rooms down from me and every once in a while something would set her off and she would start screaming at everyone and I could see security and the nurses running down the hall to go restrain and sedate her.  One time she walked in my room and was just standing there staring at me.  I kept pushing the nurses button thinking she was going to stab me or something.  Finally an orderly shows up and tries to take her back to her room, she puts up a fight and yep you guessed it, here comes the security guards and nurses to sedate her in my rough ridin' room.  It was at that point I heard they moved her to a psych ward.

I got a lot of catching up to do on here.  Is Fanning a KU fan now?

Tech Support and Suggestion Board / Posting pics and gifs question
« on: May 29, 2013, 01:43:14 PM »
Yeah, I'm technology handicappped so now that that is out of the way, I have some saved pictures and gifs on my C drive that I think are pretty cool.  Is there a way I can post these pictures and gifs?

Obviously the first step would be to become K-State's largest donor, demanding Currie and Weber be fired.  After that I'd donate a large chunk to charity and buy a house in Aspen.

Eerily similar to the Anthrax letters that came out right after 9/11.  Sometimes it's hard not to lose hope for humanity.

Essentially Flyertalk / Trying to get banned on gpc.com
« on: March 23, 2013, 10:58:12 AM »
Any advice.  I'm cancelling my account of five years on Monday but would like to go out with a bang!  Will be kind of hard because I'm blocked on twitter by all gpc staff and ignored by most of the tuck posters there.  I thought about linking multiple goEMAW threads but I don't know how to do that.
