A few people have gotten my email address and started emailing me directly, and including me on CC's. Ironically, most of it is very Jewish and Jew related.

So.... I've been looking around Maryland at other Reform congregations. Bet Chesed has this as a link from their homepage. It makes them very attractive to me, although they don't have a building and don't seem to have religious school for kids (which is a huge problem!). Why interfaith marriage should be part of URJ congregational practices:

The goal is Jewish continuity. The critical question is how best to
serve that goal. Numbers increase by addition, not subtraction.

The first imperative is to not foreclose future relationships between
the couple and the Jewish community. Refusing participation in the
wedding may be treated with lifetime resentment by the Jewish partner,
even if the marriage doesn't endure.

Jewish status, especially of the children, is a major concern. There
are two kinds of Jewish status:
o
Jewish identity, for which there are four pillars: lineality
(either parent) or conversion, Jewish self-identification, Torah
(meaning all of Jewish learning and tradition) as the primary source of
guidance, and the mitzvah system (life cycle and behavior). At least
three pillars are needed.
o
Status as a ger toshav (literally, a resident stranger, also settled
sojourner or "Friend of the Folk"). The non-Jewish partner who
participates in Jewish community activities -- and especially who raises
Jewish children -- has this status, and is thereby included with the
"mixed multitude" that stood at Sinai.
*
The rabbi must be engaged in the process and should spend extended
time (Rabbi Brenner allocates 9 hours) with the couple, explaining Judaism
and the importance of Jewish continuity, and encouraging the couple to
decide how to raise any children that may be born from the union. We must
discourage choices of "neither" and "both." And we must not foresake a
couple that decides to be "non-Jewish."

Rabbi Brenner, who has many years of experience counseling interfaith
couples, has concluded that a process called "convergence" happens first
("Yes, I can raise a Jewish child"). Conversion sometimes comes years
later.

The tone of the marriage is set during the wedding arrangements.
Halachically, the wedding is conducted by the clergy who supervises the
ketubah signing and exchange of rings. The blessings and speeches,
whether by clergy or family, are secondary. Be there, if only for the
Jewish relatives. Openness regarding participation will be remembered and
appreciated by the couple and the Jewish partner's family.

It is misguided, short-sighted, and transparently contradictory to
recruit interfaith married couples but reject the process of marrying
them.
We increase numbers and strengthen the Jewish community by adding
children, gerei toshav, converts, and returnees (whose families
separated from Judaism and who rediscover their roots). And the
non-Jewish partners we tend to get are the best, the real keepers.

Great information. While I support interfaith marriages, I do not know how a Hindu and a Jew could marry. After all, even after reincarnation in to a higher caste, my mother would still not approve of the schiksa.

I keep getting pictures from some lady. Babies, houses, vacations, etc. Guess she has my email confused with a friend or family member. Got this exchange this morning.
I had a dream that the three of us(Sandy, Ryan, and I) flew in a private plane to some city, where our small plan landed and taxied into the first floor of a hotel (it could fit because it had tiny wings). Then we exited the plane directly into a tiny room white room with nothing in besides a white table and a Russian with a big mustache. We played poker with the Russian.Texas Hold Em. But not high stakes poker. $40 buy-in.
And then I left and went upstairs to a conference where I saw Madeline Albright speak, and then I spoke to her afterward. She was very friendly. And although she was Madeline Albright, she looked like Helen Thomas, that shriveled up old reporter who talked all that crap about sending jews back to Poland.
And my Mother was there. She didn't know who Madeline Albright was, and didn't understand how I could know either. She seemed dismayed by the hole thing.
Then I met up with you guys and Rachel at a club. We partied and had fun. Jessie was there and she was having fun, until she got into a fight with an ex from a long time ago. (Sarah Tolkoff, the tiny ballerina from California).

Thanks for the article. It’s an interesting and, I believe, accurate assessment of the future. Unfortunately, I don’t see much good accruing to America outside of (potentially) cheaper products (as if cheaper products was the ultimate goal…).
This is the natural progression of things – export the manufacturing (including the technology and the know-how to scale); export the engineering; export the support services; export the design; and ultimately do nothing but market and distribute here in America. Now I ask, does that sound like a winning philosophy as a nation?

Hello Family!
We've narrowed down a space, a day, and are getting really excited ! We are going to get married in Brooklyn on Saturday, September 24th in the evening. Another save the date will come out in the mail, but just wanted to at the least let you know. We are going to block off rooms at hotels nearby, and will give you that info as soon as we can.

For about 2 weeks I kept getting emails about coaching 3rd grade boys basketball. Also, was informed to not, I repeat not, stop at Starbucks prior to games as no drinks are allowed in the gym. Weirdest part, it was for coaching 3rd grade boys (which I have none) at a school in my neighborhood. What are the chances I got on some random email chain for something going on in my own neighborhood???

I let them know when I was available, they told me those times wouldn't work, I give them more times, and I don't hear from them for a week and a half. I threw in one follow up email, still nothing.
Then today, the HR contact sends me an email with some internal accounting details by mistake. (apparently someone with the first name of michigan also works there). It also says that a new person is replacing her as the recruiter.
Kind of strange. Not sure if I should reply, because it would embarrass the crap out of her, but i think it would get her attention and i really want to work for them. (even though one of their employees fails at email).

I am not a designer or anything artsy, although I did happen to draw a picture just last night and I was accused of being metrosexual back when that term was used (off topic). That seems like something Paul Moscow would do, though. (So I sadly can't give you a hook up in that area, if you're fishing.)

How’s it going? Make anything on that 4 axis CNC mill yet? An opportunity has risen in Cargill Agriculture Supply Chain as a TRCA. Surprisingly Alex brought it to my attention, and as I get closer to the 18 month mark (June 31st) this may be a good place/time to move. I seek your thoughts on this, and expect to see my resume in the next couple of days.

1. Hiring manager is Shelly _______. Any opinion on what you think it would be like working for her?
2. Do you think moving to a TRCA role is a solid career decision? I’ve tentatively joined a CISSP study group… being in another security role would get me that extra 2 years to get the cert.

Hey, sorry for the delayed response, it has been a bit interesting/busy around here lately. I have visited the lathe, but have not used it. At this point I am too scared that I will either break it or it will kill me.
A couple of thoughts for you:
· Shelly is an inexperienced manager and not a technologist in any way/shape/form. You may be frustrated by this, but it would also be an opportunity to become the “techspert” for CASC. My off the record opinion is that she is not a very good risk manager, has a difficult time making difficult decisions and needs to be pushed to deliver. I would invite you to ask around though, as I have learned I can be kind of a dick when it comes to assessing people’s performance.
· The TRCA role certainly has an unsure future, but it will continue to exist in some way/shape/form. As it stands today with TRCAs assigned directly to a particular platform, I just don’t see that continuing with the advent of service delivery, but I may be wrong. However I see more of a pool of TRCAs, assigned as necessary to work on business risks. More breadth, less depth.
· Philosophical thought of the day: Is security what you really want to do long-term? For me, it isn’t. It’s obviously early in your career, but think about how TRCA will fit into getting you ready for your next job. What do you want your next job to be? All important questions to ask yourself before moving ahead with this.
· Non-philosophical thought of the day: Take a look at what else is out there… I mean besides Cargill, and I’m not just saying this because I left. You have great skills and Cargill continues to demonstrate that it is not an IT friendly company. Make sure that your decision gets you what you want and deserve. I chose to not get that for a long time, and in hindsight, wish I would have made the decision to leave much earlier. Don’t get me wrong, I love the company and the people, but its strategy doesn’t align with my own goals, took me a while and a couple months at Harvard to realize that.
Ironically, this came from a person whose title was "Principal Security Architect" at a MAJOR software company.

My day has been complete sh*t. I just got in at 8:35, 45 min after dropping her off.
First I hear and see 696 is all backed up, so I decide to take 10 Mile all the way across, slow but still moving. Then the Lodge service drive is so backed up people are running the light. I skip that to go to Greenfield and see from the overpass that the Lodge isn’t moving at all.
Then I turn onto what I thought was Greenfield only to realize that I’m about to get onto the f***king SOUTHFIELD expressway. I found the last side street before the expressway, got back on track to GREENFIELD, then get into my lot.
About to enter the building, realize I left my work shoes in trunk, go back to car, and fall on my a$$ so hard someone asked if I was okay. I was – only hurt my pride.
Then I realized I left my phone on the dining room table, so you can’t text me today.
If you can’t get the movie, I’ll get it to you tonight.

Hope you get this on time, I made a trip to (Ukraine)and had my bag stolen
from me with my passport and personal effects therein. The embassy has just

Good evening Randy, I am sure that yours is going better than mine. Carmen called me about an hour ago and told me not to report to work tomorrow. I am very sorry that I let you down. I would just like the opportunity to collect my own belongings, someone can watch me of course, I will only take what is mine. However, there are office supplies that I brought myself, they were not purchased by Ashaun. Also, I have a lot of stuff up there. I have been there 7 mos.
I understand. I just don't appreciate the way it was handled. I was hoping to be a regular employee but to be honest I found it a little insulting to be supervising teenagers that make more than I do. After gas, wear and tear on my car, no benefits, and no vacation or holiday pay, etc. I was barely breaking even so I was going to have to have something change. I was just really hoping to move into marketing and get a slightly higher pay rate than $8.50/hr. People at McDonalds make more than what I was making through NeMarc.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with you. You went above and beyond for me and I let you down. Mr. Tate has been more than fair and patient and understanding with me. I just have had a lot going on in my personal life, the affair, trying to salvage my marriage, my ex-husband acting like a fool, my mom being sick. It is just about more than I can handle but I know God can handle it and He never gives us more than we can handle. I greatly appreciate all of your prayers for me. Our talks and prayers meant a lot to me. I wish you the best and I pray for your marriage to be restored as well. Thank you for everything. I hope the program does well. Tell the kids I will miss them and I wish them the best. I had gotten kinda attached to them.

On Tuesday May 24 2016, this is what happened. I got off work at 6 am and I was really tired. I ate something, got in bed with my son, and said a short prayer that went like this, “Papa Yahweh, in the name of Yahshua I repent. I ask that your will be done with me and Zion (my son) as we sleep. I pray for divine safety and divine protection. Amen.”
I hadn’t been praying heavy like I should, but in this small prayer I said Yahshua I repent. Well, I turned my head towards the wall and I hadn’t even closed my eyes for a minute before I instantly saw a vision.
I suddenly found myself up in the air in the city of Houston TX. It was daytime. It looked like it was around 10 am. In front of me I could see about four tall gas tanks and other normal things you would see in the city. I live outside of Houston, but I don’t know where the oil tanks are. As I zoomed in on the gas tanks I could see they all had thick black smoke coming from them and one had caught on fire. I thought it was strange to see tall gas tanks in the city because I mostly see them in industrial areas.
Next to the gas tanks was an apartment complex that looked like it was about four or five stories high. All of the sudden, the fire that was on one of the gas tank jumped onto the apartment complex!
All of a sudden the oil tanks caught on fire and, when they did, there was an apartment complex next to them that caught on fire as well. Then the whole apartment building just collapsed. I was in utter shock.
Then out of the corner of my right eye I saw a wave of water that looked around five feet high from where I was up in the air. So it was not as tall as the buildings, but enough to cause severe damage. After that it was like a ripple effect. When I saw the water, I said, “Where did this water come from?” I wondered because I was in the city, nowhere near the beach.
Then the Holy Spirit said, “The water represents judgment. Judgment is coming to Houston and it will be destroyed, desolate, and uninhabitable.”
Again I was stunned! Houston was being destroyed! I got scared because people were screaming and there was nothing anyone could do because it was happening so fast.
I closed my eyes and said, “Yahshua!”
I think the wave of water is what did it for me. Then the water retracted, but then it came back again with force and strong winds. The water was destroying everything in sight. Cars were being flipped over and everything was catching on fire.
When the winds came it moved me in the air and that was when I began to panic because until then I thought I was only seeing a vision. I began to hear people screaming and I suddenly realized none of us were not going to make it. So I began to think, “Oh no!” And I started yelling, “I Repent, I Repent.”
I closed my eyes and said Yahshua several times, then I finally came out of the vision. I opened my eyes and I was in my room, shocked at how real everything was I had just seen and so relieved I didn’t wake up in hell. I was made to understand that if you are in Houston on that day you will not survive. The sky was clear, so nobody was expecting it.
When I came out of the vision, I said to the Lord, “I don’t live in Houston, I live in the Woodlands.”
He said, “Where you are, you are not safe.”
So I prayed and asked Him, “What are my instructions?”
After that prayer, I went to sleep for real. I was so tired, I didn’t dream of anything, but when I woke up, I heard God say to me, “Tell them to seek me and I will tell them where to go for safety. Tell the church three things they need to do.”
This is from the Lord and the instructions that came after the vision.
1. Take your secret sins to God so He can help. He wants to reveal things to people because He has instructions, which are different for each of us.
2. Stock up on food and supplies, but not in Houston. Go where He directs you to go. Stocking up food in Houston won’t help.
3. Make sure all documents are laminated.
I was not given a time frame for when this event will take place. The devastation was so terrible, it will definitely affect the surrounding areas of Houston.
I shared this vision with my sister in Christ, Mena Lee Grebin. I asked her what was wrong with Houston Texas. I didn’t really see anything significant about Houston that would make Yahshua destroy it. She said Texas had allowed a lot of sin to come in on its’ soil. She referenced former Houston Mayor Annise Parker, a homosexual, but I didn’t think that would make Yahshua destroy a place and make it uninhabitable.
So then I decided I didn’t care what the reason was. What I saw was so scary, I don’t want to be here when it happens. So I started praying about when I needed to be out of Houston. So I was like, I’m just gonna fast and pray because this is serious and I may not have much time. So the next day, I thought about it and I was like, well I guess since I have been given this vision, which is amazing since I haven’t been praying like I should, maybe I should find out why Yahshua is destroying Houston.
I wanted to be responsible with these visions. So I went on YouTube and typed in Satanic worship. I didn’t know what to look for because I’m like I don’t know what’s unique about this place. As I was searching, the Holy Spirit said, “Abortion.”
I was like abortion… okay? So I’m like, what’s unique about abortions. They are everywhere, in every city. So I looked up Planned Parenthood in Houston. I was like, maybe Houston has the biggest one…IDK. Then I came across this article from Life News. The Holy Spirit said, “Look at the date.”
I’m like, “Ohhhhhhh snap. May 24th! Thats the day I had the vision.”
Then He said, “Read the article.”
I just kind of skimmed through it, but when I got to the part of “selling body parts of aborted babies” the Holy Spirit said, “That is why judgment is coming!”
I was stunned! He said, “It is part of it.”
He wanted me to know that part. I was so shocked, but also thankful that He had given me a reason and to learn Houston has been heavily involved in this demoic murderous act.
Then he said, “I don’t do anything unless I reveal it to My prophets first.”

(He continued telling how President Obama announced his support for the Supreme Court ruling on same sex marriage by decorating the White House with rainbow colored lighting. The rainbow is the symbol used by LGBT organizations.)

Exactly eight years ago today, on August 30 2009, Brother Billy Nelson had a prophetic dream in which he saw great destruction in Houston TX, which he describes as follows:
“I looked out over the water and saw massive amounts of debris coming into the waterway. I saw pieces of rooftops, houses, and all manner of trash floating in the water. It was the leading edge of incredible amounts of fragments of what used to be homes and businesses. I didn’t understand where all this debris could possibly be coming from or what could cause such a mega-disaster. The cruise ship certainly would not escape being trapped in the rubble, the debris was so thick, I knew I could walk on top of it all the way back to Houston.
I heard a His voice say, ‘When you see this, it has begun.’
I looked forward towards the bow of the cruise ship and saw two tanker ships directly in front of us, a couple of hundred yards ahead of our ship, sailing side by side, cutting a path through the thick debris field for us. The tankers were stoutly built and could withstand the beating from all the trash in the water. As the tankers cut through the rubble, they left a clear watery path, making smooth sailing for us, even in the middle of this catastrophe. We had no choice but to follow them to get back to port.
When we got near the dock, I simply opened the two side doors of the ship, waited for the dock hands to secure the ship and stepped safely down onto the dock. It was such relief to be safe back in port.” (see the complete post)
I believe it is significant that exactly eight years passed between the day he received the dream and today because the number eight represents new beginnings and this dream revealed the start of something new. He heard the Lord say, “When you see this, it has begun.”
What has begun? Billy understood it was a confirmation of many other prophetic warnings God had already given him regarding judgment coming to the United States. He wrote, “I believe this dream goes along with what the Father has been saying to me about more and more intense judgments are coming to America.”
His description of the judgments as “more and more intense” confirms what Jesus said would happen in the days prior to His return. He described it as being like birth pangs because the pain gets greater and more frequent as the time of delivery draws near. (Matthew 24:8)
Amazingly, my friend Lyn Leahz emailed me today to tell me what Brother Billy saw in his dream is happening today as he is currently on a cruise ship near Houston, stranded with 20,000 other passengers, as Galveston police explained:
According to local police in Galveston, Texas, officials hope the ships are not able to make port while there is still significant flooding because roadways out of Galveston are blocked and people getting off the cruises would be unable to leave the island. Many of the passengers’ cars that are parked in the cruise terminal lots are stuck there because of flooded access roads. (Source: Fox News)
I believe the events happening in Houston can only be understood in the larger context of where we are in God’s prophetic timeline. Contrary to the false prophets proclaiming all is well, trouble must come because prophecies recorded thousands of years ago in the scriptures must be fulfilled before the Lord returns. I believe we are fast approaching what the angel Gabriel described as “a time of anguish, such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence.” But the good news is Gabriel also said, “At that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.” (Daniel 12:1)
Prophetic warnings indicate another event could be coming soon. In 2016, Pamela Banda saw great destruction coming to Houston through flood waters. The Holy Spirit told her, “The water represents judgment. Judgment is coming to Houston and it will be destroyed, desolate, and uninhabitable.”
Her vision revealed two floods and two storms in Houston. She wrote, “Then the water retracted, but then it came back again with force and strong winds. The water was destroying everything in sight. Cars were being flipped over and everything was catching on fire.” (see the complete post)
Her description makes me think perhaps what is happening now is only the first part of the fulfillment of what Brother Billy Nelson saw in his dream. What he saw was so amazing, he wondered how it could happen, so he asked God about it and received another prophetic vision a couple of weeks later on September 15, 2009.
“In the vision, I was observing from a high altitude. I saw the Houston, Galveston coastline below. A very weak unnamed storm was brewing just off shore. The TV weather reported said, “This storm is nothing to worry about whatsoever.”
Then it suddenly intensified and became a very large black storm like no one had ever seen. The storm moved inland in a large black mass and engulfed the city of Houston and surrounding area. Soon afterwards the storm withdrew, it drug back a massive amount of debris as it returned to sea. It caught millions off guard and there must have been a great loss of life and property. Then I saw a calendar with the month September and the year 09. Then a hand appeared and marked a line through the 09. End of vision.” (see the complete post)
The year was marked out, so it was not revealed, but the month was revealed as September. Putting Billy’s vision together with what Pamela saw, a second storm will bring more flooding and strong winds to the Houston area and its’ destruction will be greater than the first because Pamela saw “everything catching on fire” and Billy saw, “It drug back a massive amount of debris as it returned to sea.”
Even though the first storm has already landed, we have not been shown how much time passes before the second one hits. Perhaps the area will be granted a reprieve.

Well, I'm not going to even try to pretend that emailing you out of the blue, 20 years after we graduated from high school, can be considered an entirely normal thing to do. Most likely, people just keep wondering whatever happened to so and so but here, in this case, curiosity won out (for better or worse).
Also, I recently found myself at the 20th reunion after Anne (now Britt) Savage facebook guilt -tripped me into going because it turns out she spent a lot of time organizing it (Brit, along with a surprisingly number of people from Madison, also went to college with me) and had vested hopes that people might turn up. So, I went and chatted with people I either A.) do not remember from high school or B.) knew some about because Facebook has kept me updated. I actually had a really fun conversation with Kate Lokken (Huebner) who has turned out to be a banker of some sort and is hilarious to chat with (yes, those two things can go together). I even found out what Josh (last name unknown but friends with Kate) was up to - he's apparently sailing after spending some time as a ski bum. Another guy, Kierian (the one who went to Harvard) now spends his work life wandering around airports, scrutinizing their processes and telling them how they can save money by becoming more efficient. Afterwards they give him gobs of money for this insight.
Anyway, so then I got curious about the people I didn't see. Thus, this random email to you. Jonas, what have you been up to? Are you still climbing mountains? It would be fun to hear what you have been up to!

Just wanted to thank you all for the amazing job you did planning and implementing Bob's 75th Surprise birthday party last weekend. Kim and I had a great time, and it was good to see a lot of old friends. I'm not sure I've seen Bob smile so much. The food was incredible, and the games were a surprise, and a lot of fun. Loved the Margarita machine and the cherry on top was the soft serve ice cream machine. You guys thought of everything! Are you going to post pictures that everyone took?

Angela and John,
Every year each team is responsible for providing a team “Basket” or package that will be a silent auction item for our Golf Outing. This year our U10 Red team’s theme is “Tournament Road Trip” which could include a folding wagon, folding chairs, cooler, snacks etc. We typically spend about $200 out of our team fund for this.
