Welp, I should know what the insurance is going to give me tomorrow or Monday. I still have $4000 on my loan from my previous car. I'm sure whatever I get back will swallow that and then hopefully a little left over. I was really looking forward to having that paid off next June. What should I get? Where can I get good used cars?

You buy the Accord now, and you just wait and see. The Accord has great resell, very reliable, and snazzier than most sensible sedans out there in the middle price range. If things change, then you sell off the Accord (easy to do) and get that Odyssey. Simple.

The Ford Fusion suggestions in this thread are good (though, not the 2013 or whatevs where they changed the body style and they have recalls and crap).
It's really just a function of what you want your payment to be.
If you don't want a car payment, I'd go buy a Civic or a Corrolla for $8K and drive it for the next 5 years with minimal issues and relax.

Too much Canadian mist tonight, so here it goes. I lived through two family bankruptcies's growing up. I'm tight with my $ unless it comes to K-state, bar, or a filly I wanna impress. It's really hard for me to take savings out to buy a car out right after all the progress I've made. I won the insurance battle (double than what I thought I'd get), 3% interest rate on my loan for the car, and I like to see my small paychecks rise (it's a mental thing), I kinda learned something from growing up in a fam who gave too much when they couldn't.

Well, I was just asking because you owe less than $1k, and that payment sounds like more of a pain in the ass than anything. I guess if you can't pay it off early, you might as well just pay the $50 per month, though. What is the interest rate you are paying on the student loan debt?

I will admit being fascinated and tempted by the credit card thread. At one point, I was not mature enough to put stuff on a 10 credit card and pay it off. But I think I can handle it now. And spending $4000 a year on flights when I could spend almost nothing is very, very promising.

For someone with bad anxiety (it's in the family genes) this week has been a living hell. Like my stomach hurts really bad. I've just really been mind effing myself. Plus, I know I obviously like her, cause I never get this worked up over a girl. I'm usually calm and cool and right now I'm just a mess. I've been at the gym like everyday for 2 hours a session. For someone with bad anxiety (it's in the family genes) this week has been a living hell. Like my stomach hurts really bad. I've just really been mind effing myself. Plus, I know I obviously like her, cause I never get this worked up for a girl. I'm usually calm and cool and right now I'm just a mess. I've been at the gym like everyday for 2 hours a session. The anxiety is good for my awesome sculpture of a body (working out), but bad for blood pressure, drinking habits, headaches, etc.
I'm #teamfanning of course. That being said, how can you be "usually calm and cool" if you have bad anxiety? Do you just have bad anxiety when you are experiencing a great deal of stress? Had a 1994 Grand Cherokee in college and it towed boats as well as my current Nissan Titan.

Side note. I really like the new little Fiats. I drive a lot(should be in all caps for emphasis, but I refuse to do that) for work and would love to get one of those little guys but fear that I wouldn't fit in one comfy. Anyone been in one?

The LX570 and the Land Cruiser are pretty much the same while the Sequoia is based on the Tundra truck chassis and all of them including the Sequoia have the same engine/transmission combo.
One thing the that makes the Sequoia superior to the other two SUVs is it has a 2 speed transfer case with 4 low while the other two are full time 4wd but not low range.

both are fine cars. I would go with the explorer because I like the way they look better. also there's an ecoboost version and it gets like 30 mpg. I'm also a big fan of new fords so there's that too.

mrs. raquetcat wants the explorer solely for the reason that you can get one with keyless entry and push button start. We have that on our Altima and it starts to suck driving cars where you actually have to use a key.

yeah, and wait until you use the easyfuel capless fuel door. you'll never believe how inconvenient it seems to screw off a gas cap after you get used to the easyfuel thing.

No. It's been kicking back (in traffic, it's rough ridin' terrifying) a lot lately and the check engine light has been going crazy! There's something not connected and since it's an older car (2002, shitty VW) the parts are through the roof. I told him to let me think about it and Ms. Wacky wanted me to get a new car yesterday. I'm going to look into it tonight. I'm considering a mid sized Kia.

Good luck friend. My 2014 has has had over a dozen recalls on it. Also already had a major computer issue with the transmission and it only has 45k miles.

I got a used Nissan Leaf. They are dirt cheap and my wife has free charging at her work. It's fun to drive.
Also, car dealers are the worst. Just an awful experience.
