It's the last game of a winless season, and get pisspounded by a not very good KSU team to boot. It's a crappy deal, but I can't blame anyone for mailing it in and just trying to get out of here. These kids have literally nothing to feel good about. I can't think of one thing these freshmen and sophs can look at and say "hey, it's gonna get better, our future is bright". If our locker room isn't like a morgue, our head coach deserves a medal or something. Losing takes its toll on players.

Live in Orlando, have been to four UCF games this year. Watched most of KU"s games until they've become unwatchable too. It's hard to say which team is worse because they are both dogpiss -- neither block. tackle, pass, run, cover, kick or anything else correctly.
However, KU is in a much bigger pile of sh*t because the Big XII is so damn rough. Really, KU is the only gimme in the conference. And from the looks of it, it ain't changing anytime soon.
At least Sean Snyder is having a good audition.
FWIW, it was around this time that I got a text from a friend at the game who said, "Some pissed off KU guy just told me, 'It's going to be great: KSU will hire Sean Snyder and KU will get better and then we'll destroy you.'"
This isn't unexpected. In the offseason many of us knew this would be most likely the worst P5 team in modern history. There is literally not a single player on our roster that would start for even an average opposing team (Goodman might, but he's the only candidate).
That said, the lack of discipline and even basic understanding of the sport is demoralizing. This program will never significantly improve as long as Bowen remains on this staff. The fact that either Beatty chose, or accepted being forced to keep, Bowen is the most damning part of his early tenure.
Just watch our team try to blitz. The timing and concepts are horrific.
This is not a lack of talent. This is a lack of focus and effort. K-State has only won one Big 12 game, that it should have lost at home.

I get that we're bad and we were down a ton of scholarship players, and this season was going to be bad regardless, but can you really give a guy that's starting his career 0-12 4 or 5 years? This team is bad, but there have been countless coaching decisions that were just completely stupid. If there is not a very marked improvement next year, I don't see how it could be justifiable to give Beaty a third year.
