GILES WATCH 2015 - STATE OF KANSAS JOY THREAD - NON KANSANS STAY OUT

I told myself I wasn't going to do this, but I am really starting to feel good about Harry Giles.

He is now on the cusp of a most anxious and life-changing period. Giles has five schools as finalists for his services. Wake Forest: the hometown pick; Duke: the projected favorite; Kentucky: well, it's Kentucky, and you never count out Kentucky; North Carolina: the school of his favorite all-time player, Michael Jordan; Kansas: the one school he's not yet seen the campus of, and the mysterious and intriguing choice.

I know I am just getting my hopes up here, but this could be a wonderful thing for the State of Kansas!

If Duke gets him I will be so mad!  They get all the players and win all the championships.  The entire country basically sucks up to them, saying they have the most tradition and they are a true blue blood.  It gets annoying.  I understand it's hard to get elite players to Kansas but I'd like to see it happen once in awhile.

In the end, I think a young man of such high character will make the correct choice

I think the addition of Giles could make KU the premier team in the state of Kansas again.  I wish them luck.

I don't know guys.  On one side of the equation we have John Calipari and all the KU fans tell me he cheats, like all the time cheating.   On the other side we've got wholesome Bill Self, a fine gentleman from Oklahoma.

Folks, not only will this be a victory for our great state, but it will be a victory of good over evil if this youngster chooses Kansas.

Safe to say Kansas will be in a better state with Giles.

Kelly went to Clemson and everyone said "well yeah, 18 year old going to SC rather than stay in Kansas -- no brainer." This Giles guy coming from NC to our lovely state would do a long way in deflating that self-loathing meme.

Here's the way I look at:  Roy Williams was born and raised in NC.  He moves to Kansas, and his career EXPLODES!  Later, he chooses to move back to NC.  The lesson here is that sometimes you need to get away from "home" to figure out who you really are, and then return "home" successful and with no regrets.

Just hope the kid "get it," you know.

Great future battle. Giles against the Wild Willie tag team of Bullnuts, Claws, and xWhomper.  Duke would be the last place for this kid to go.  Hooterville Bill is an okie OK hillbilly. Can't say much for spoiled beaker fans though.
