Gottlieb recap on Petro
« on: November 17, 2015, 01:03:09 PM »
-Said he's pretty close with the Columbia coaches and they contacted him before the game to ask for pointers on what to expect. He said he was pretty vague with his response, but he thought Columbia would win going into that game.

-Said Columbia will finish at the top of the Ivy League and be a real contender in the tournament. It's going to look great on the resume.

-Said the Columbia coaches called him today and said: "This K-State team is going to surprise some ppl. They're way better than I expected them to be. Their offensive rebounding is going to frustrate a lot of teams. They're good!"

-When asked what the ceiling is for K-State: "They have a really good chance to make the tournament. they could be that 6th or 7th team in the league, that sneaks in. They need to focus on winning their home games this year and I feel like they have a great shot of surprising some teams in the Big 12 this year. Again, the Columbia coach wouldn't stop talking about how fluid they were at times."

That's all I got for this week.

He was pretty vague on the Royals stuff. Pretty much said, we're a bunch of homers, who didn't watch the World Series from a non-biased view point. Said we were a good team, but he doesn't know if we were the better team. He said the Mets handed us a lot of opportunities and the Royals took advantage of them. Said our fans are very sensitive and then Petro had to remind him that fan is short for fanatic. Also, said, we might have been a bit touchy with him, since it had been so long since we had won one and he was down playing it. Then he was like: "whatever! Oklahoma St. is undefeated in football this year, but you don't hear me bitching about their ranking. They're just OK. People need to open their eyes (I think he stole this from Ms. Wacky)".

what an idiot. newsflash: if one team makes infinity more mistakes, they are not the better team. infield defense is a part of baseball.

I don't think it's necessarily about validation as much as pointing out the stupidity of saying that had the other team not played so bad they would have been better.

I'm surprised Gottlieb didn't take down his "Take Ku against MSU" post.  Btw.. he's hitting at like 10% so far this year so don't take betting advice from the man.

It definitely is similar. Not really a coincidence either that there was a lot of KU t-shirt fans that jumped on the bandwagon. Also a lot of the same people who got angry at Joe Buck.

it comes with living in flyover country
in parts of the world where there are other things to occupy your time, the investment isn't quite the same.

Gottlieb can't find his ass with both hands most of the time, his show is unlistenable.  He's wrong on most subjects he decides to attack,  and spends an inordinate amount of time on what a great dad and husband he is, and how much of an expert he is on those subjects.

He's a Cali guy so he really doesn't understand the midwest, even though he thinks he does because his wife is midwestern, so the Royals to him are just some hick team.  I hope he gets scalped by a band of Native Americans, if he in fact has any hair now.
