Somebody needs to hire Mangino.
Just not us.  Plz some school needs to get the FATMAN, and the sooner the better!  I hope I don't get nightmares from this.   :frown:

Mizzou's AD hired Tom Herman at Houston last year. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go that route.

And the Deputy AD at Mizzou was previously the Deputy AD at Memphis.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Is Maryland a great job? Color guy mentioned it last night when talking about Gundy. Mentioned Maryland, USC, and the other USC. I was surprised...

They share a division with tOSU, Mich, Mich St, and Penn St. That is quite the uphill battle for any coach. The only thing that makes them a little intriguing is Under Armor.

Maryland is a crap job, and Gundy would be Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to take it.

I know that he and his AD don't get along at OSU, but he's got a good deal there.  No reason to leave.

MU is a trash job right now. Their only hope is the Houston connect.
So. Car is also a trash job.
Not worried about either. Not worried about Iowa State.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Ubz writing about ISU

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I enjoy messing with ISU more than anyone but to say a coach would take the UNT or USF jobs first is grade A stupidity. I wonder if Ubbs has ever been to UNT, other than passing it on I-35.

I know I took a stand against fired coaches with oscar but I would hire Les Miles in like half a second if he was available. But he'd probably be smart to take a year or two off and be on TV.

Absolutely would take. But yes, if he gets fired he either gets a big job right away or takes a year and gets the biggest next year.

No one likes old guys around here, especially ones who can't recruit qb's.

I've got a lot of respect for Ubbs, and I don't think he's out of line here. If you believe you are an up and coming HC and you want to end up in the NFL or one of the blue blood programs, it could make more sense to take a job like UNT.

You're not going to turn ISU into world beaters when you are consistently recruiting against and facing guys like Stoops, Briles, Patterson (even Gundy). You could generate a lot more attention by "transforming" a lower level program, and it's a lot easier to do that outside of a P5 conference and in a place like Texas or Florida.

A good coach can win big at any P5 program. The only programs that never win have fan bases that don't care enough about winning to go get a good coach.

I'd take a bullet for Ubbs, and maybe I actually have, but I think he should apologize to ISU for writing that nonsense, and maybe he owes that to me at the very least.
