At the end of the day, the Cats were fortunate to put up their 4th best offensive performance (points per possession) in oscar's 2+ seasons at K-State. The 2nd half defense was awful and K-State has only won 3 other games in the last 10 seasons when giving up more more PPP than they allowed today in Hawaii. K-State came out with a win, even though Purdue was able to turn an early 2nd half deficit of 20 points into single digits by late in the half.
Foster was amazing, hitting multiple clutch shots down the stretch and over the course of the game. Coming off the 2nd worst offensive performance of his young career it was nice to see him respond with his 3rd best.
Gip's foul trouble was problematic as was 0 rebounds. He did some nice things when he was on the floor, but no rebounds from Gip is unacceptable.
The PG battle is a dilemma, but Johnson and Thomas continue to give a mix of minutes. Thomas tied for the lead in rebounds for this game and he did some nice things, but some of his decision making is still questionable. Johnson played fewer minutes with more assists, steals, and points. Both will continue to play and what these two do will be interesting to watch all season.
Westicles seems to be getting back into the swing of things with a nice mix of rebounding, points, and blocks.
Hurt and Harris continue to be solid, combining to score 19 points in a combined 25 minutes of play. Hurt was also solid with 5 boards.
A good win for K-State coming off that LBSU debacle and a nice challenge coming against Top 5 Arizona tomorrow night.
