I have no anger towards those ppl, I have anger for those who can't try to see another persons viewpoint. That's awesome if you have $, just don't find the need to look down on those who've actually "pulled up their bootstraps" to make something of themselves. Using that term in a condescending way just proves they laugh at and don't value these ppl. Which is kinda contradictory for what "they" stand for.

Wacky, I respect hard work and people making something of themselves despite the odds against them... I just want to make it easier for people to do so. When I use sarcasm to describe people that throw out this tired trope of "bootstapping it" but then want to lower taxes, cut welfare, build a wall, privatize social security and medicare, etc, policies which IMHO are antithetical to helping out the poor or working middle class, I am pointing out the hypocrisy underpinning their beliefs.

Don't be such a someone who makes me uncomfortable about it, it's not personal.

I have no anger towards those ppl, I have anger for those who can't try to see another persons viewpoint. It wasn't directed at you, because I was responding to Abe and Cam's attacks. It's as simple as that. That's awesome if you have $, just don't find the need to look down on those who've actually "pulled up their bootstraps" to make something of themselves. Using that term in a condescending way just proves they laugh at and don't value these ppl. Which is kinda contradictory for what "they" stand for.
Ok. I didn't think you were directing it at me. I'm also not trying to attack you.

My points were that even a poor, bootstrapper like myself can lean lib.

That, I also wish i didn't have all of those debt and came from a wealthier family.

That being rich or poor does not make one morally or ethically superior or inferior. That people from all backgrounds have shared and opposing views.

I hope you take a step back everyday and think of where you were and where you are now. Give yourself credit and feel pride. From your posts, it appears you have moved up on the social ladder. Congratulate yourself.

This next part is not an indictment on anyone. It is a bigger deal to have an upward trajectory in life than to be born in a well to do family and maintaining. The sweet ain't as sweet without the sour. Embrace what you have achieved. Pay no mind to those that didn't have to work as hard. You're the master of your own universe.

Have a great evening!

Yeah, I don't get the people who think the tiers are too complicated. Doubling the standard deduction makes it a huge cut, though. The median household income in the US is about $52,000. Half of that being untaxed is a huge break for a lot of families, and even more would be tax-free with more dependents.

Doubling the standard deduction is an enormous middle class tax cut, no question about.

It's weird you are attacking people for being rich and voted for the billionaire that ran for the party nomination dominated by rich elite voters.
Your reading comprehension is poor. It's easy to have liberal views and want world peace and all of that crap, when you grew up set and not a care in the world. I voted for a economic strategy that I thought could help middle class ppl in my situation. If you don't like it, move on and get over it.

Wacky, buddy, you are so delusional in what you think it means to be liberal. Not only that but the economic strategy you are so enamored with is not going to help the middle class in the slightest short-term or one iota in the long-term. In fact, it is most likely going to hurt them, all the while it is going to blow up the pocketbooks of the extremely rich/wealthy. No matter the facts though... You feel like the president gets it and has your back.

Shame on us for actually trying to debate ideas or improve upon the status quo. Wacky and the trumpeters have opinions and feelings and that's all that matters.

"Doubling the standard deduction only helps the rich" is a highly delusional pov.

What's your tax plan to reduce the deficit phil? The obama hiking taxes on the rich put a nice negative $10 trillion dent in the deficit, all while choking the economy and creating a brand new class of poors. Is that the one? Parity through misery, libtard utopia.

Love it when your tribe lies through its teeth about whose tax policy it was.
Hint: there is a reason why they were always called the "bush tax cuts" and your tribe never allowed his budgets and tax plans to be passed.

Trump had the unique opportunity (unconventional candidate, control of Congress) to actually try tax reform. Instead we get these incremental changes that benefit certain interests including his own....with little help to everyday Joe. Oh well. This plan won't pass and he will play the 9th circuit Court or something.
