3 voters had us at 18 (including the Capital Journal's Matt Galloway)
1 had us at 20
3 had us at 21 (including Brett McMurphy and Sam McKewon of the Omaha World Herald -- Sam's always been pretty EMAW when it comes to voting)
2 had us at 22 (including Joe Walljasper of the Colombia [MO] Tribune)
4 had us at 23 (including Jimmy Burch of the Ft. Worth Star Telegram and Mitch Vingle of the Charleston [WV] Gazette)
7 had us at 24 (including Kirk Bohls of the Austin American Statesman; Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News; and John Shinn of the Norman [OK] Transcript)
4 had us at 25

Miami, Utah, SDUS, Tenn all go from not ranked to the top 25. rough ridin' Auburn, .......rough ridin' auburn...., is still ranked.

While weekly ranking are usually a 'what have you done for me lately' kind of experiment, these end of year ones usually try to get some season long perspective (maybe 60/40 weekly weight?). Arguably Auburn should have been dropped before their bowl game. But the last 3 games of their season bad losses, especially the woof performance against Oklahoma. The last 4 have been seriously trending down, sorry I don't respek Vandy.

Auburn was the best 5 loss team in the country (ranked #13 by footballoutsiders combined metrics). Meanwhile we were the 11th best 4 loss team (#34).

I get it, Auburn played a tough schedule and played some really good team close as well as the win over LSU (the best 4 loss team). But there is something about losing your last 3, 1 to a bad team and two not close to really good teams, that makes me think maybe they shouldn't be ranked. Not necessarily the Cats over them, but still not ranked.
