Per Andy Katz.

Quote
Just spoke with an Oklahoma State official and was told Brad Underwood flew back with the team after the Michigan game Friday, landing at 8 pm CT. There was no indication he was leaving. School official was stunned and learned about his hiring at Illinois via twitter.

I was just about to post that.

Never could understand the love for T Boone's athletic department.  Good for Brad.

I can't admire a guy who was obviously leaving way before this . I wonder how long ago this deal got done. Just like stoops Venables who mumped us in the big 12 champy.

You folks are so weird. Worse than the oscar lovers at times.
No way. You could make this argument if Brad went after the conference tourney or selection sunday.

How did they treat him like crap?  Low balling is business, he needed a better agent.

My first thought is Evans must be gone but it would probably be tough to get a better gig even with one more successful season with Evans. Good for Brad.

Take a vastly better offer is also business, right?

Note my post above.  You have someone probably double your salary, you need to take it.
He was at base $800k right? I'm sure Illinois is around $1.5m.  Wouldn't surprise me if they just doubled his salary too.

He was making $400k at SFA a year ago which was a ridiculous amount for that conference. So he's making at least 4x more in one year? Yeah, he did alright.

i don't know how you can treat an employee worse than paying him 1/3 of what his peers make and trying to make it difficult for him to leave for a better job.

So we are stuck with oscar, lose out on brad again, and now OSU will get Doug.

Seems like an obvious way around the $6 million intra conference buy out. See you in a couple years, Brad.

I'm guessing Illinois stepped up. George was making $1.7 mil, I'm guessing Brad will get $2+.

They aren't going to hire Gottlieb, lol. Like sys said we better hope they didn't get Forbes.

Alright agent for hot commodity coach, we'd like to hire him.  What do you think is a fair salary?

Why not $800k zoidberg.jpg?

HIRED!

Too much back and forth to make a lot of assumptions though. We both recognize that his salary is pretty darn low and it's not like college athletics is putting pressure on coaches and athletics departments to contract salaries.

Oh man well see if there is a difference between KSU and OSU really quick to see how the admin/boosters deal.

Maybe the Frank coaching tree is just really poisonous and full of mean faces?

Schulz & Currie in charge, Frank had to go.  Schulz bails anyway, but Currie still here so can't get Brad back.  Then Currie bails, but Brad's already on to Illinois.

Amy Button Renz gotta go.
