They tell me probably 2-3 days.

The cane is nothing special but I have some kickass tennis balls for my walker.  Hope the dog doesn't try to steal them while I am shuffling around the house.

I've had hip surgery but not a replacement, just a repair job. Mine didn't hurt too bad but replacement will probably be worse. Ts&ps

Guys...I'm shuffling around with a walker, but I can already tell I shouldve had this done years ago.  So much less pain sitting and watching baseball.

Almost a month into recovery.  Still have to use a sling most of the time for a couple more weeks.  Still sleeping in a recliner most of the time due to waking up every couple of hours in bed due to weird pressure on joint.  Crossing fingers that all of this bullshit will be worth it and I can get fully recovered.  Wish I could start therapy now so I can regain use of my arm ASAP..  :impatient:

Pro-tip:  Learn to do certain things with your non-dominant hand before surgery.

Looking like I'll be having this done in the near future, this update sounded shitty, but how did the rest of the recovery go? Can I do it the first week of December and be back on the golf course in the spring no problemo?

Maybe....just depends on how fast you heal and how quickly you regain flexibility in the joint.  Your time frame is probably pushing it, but I think it is possible.

First day back to work (kind of) since getting new parts installed.  Moving pretty well with no pain....just still kind of slow until my muscles remember what they hell they are supposed to do when walking.

Keep it up XT. Soon enough you can grease that joint up and be back in business.

"What's your pain level 0-10?"

Wife in for 2nd major surgery in last 6 months, and gets this question every time nurses check vitals.

Hooked up to IV, monitors, and wires monitoring things in the ppm, and the patient is left to assess their own pain level on 0-10 scale?

She doesn't get it.  Whatever she says doesn't get her more pain meds.  Is it a trick question?

What' would be examples on the scale?
