No, and here's why....


They are extremely useful mechanisms for assisting your reader in the precise inflection you wish for them to perceive. However, they can be misused quite easily, and muck up a sentence.  It's best to error on the side of "readability" and use them, in my opinion.

i'm pretty much done with them. occasionally will use one. rarely though.

If I were you, I would find a way to screw with the reader that didn't involve making myself look like a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) who can't even structure a sentence.

I don't care how I appear to my readers that's their issue to deal with.

there needs to be something that's like halfway between a period and a comma. we really mumped up there.
