yeah, definitely fun.  the only people I know in Illinois that say crawdad are the really redneck hillbilly ones, but as the map demonstrates they're there.

I attribute my own "pick-AHN" pronouning to going to the Walnut Valley Bluegrass festival (Winfield, for those in the know) every year since i was young and everyone calls one section of the campgrounds the "Pecan Grove"  there being a bunch of Okies at this particular festival, it must have rubbed off.

#20 is weird

I've never heard anyone say "The City" and mean NYC.  Down here, people are talking about OKC when they say "The City"

Living in the deep south it would infuriate me how soda was referred to as "coke." What kind of coke do you want, we have pepsi, dr pepper..... >:(

team pick-AHN here. Pretty amazing how the map hits pretty much where I grew up and the area where my grandparents lived in Oklahoma where they made us pick up pecans when we visited.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

St. Louis is over the top about calling it soda.  Places will act like they have no idea what you want when you order "pop."  They know, they are just jerks.

That map is like bright red over St. Louis...little "soda" capital of the Midwest.

I say soda for the most part, but I ALWAYS say "pop" in St. Louis.  eff those assholes, man.

People who say soda and live in the midwest are trying to hard to not be white midwesterny. Just embrace it sometimes. I mean, you're drinking a pop, call it whatev you want it still ain't classy.

Know what I had for breakfast mocat?  A big plate of pick-AHNs smothered with sear-up and washed down with a tall glass off pop (Pepsi Next if you must know).  Sounds kind of unhealthy but it's delicious.
