What does wsu stand to gain from playing a team like ku?

Does anyone have any footage this year of self and Marshall interacting behind the scenes? I want to see if self silver backed Marshall off the court. That really showed that self is th better man and concerned about what matters in a basketball team.

Agreed. Some of the most delusional, falsely self-entitled, "I got my gear at WalMart" types. My favorite was the post claiming they would have won with Embid. Yes, and they probably would have won with Wilt Chamberlain, Jo Jo White, and scores of others.

I can't really find it in myself to give a goddam about guys like Oubre who come in and underachieve for 6 months before bolting for perceived greener pastures. Best of luck to him I guess.

And then on the flip side you have guys like Selden that you really wish would go pro just so he isn't back in the program the following year. He's ceiling out and never going to be much better than he is right now, with also the capability to put up 0 points like today.

Some guys think they can throw on the Kansas jersey and that makes them good. That is what these guys thought. They had tons of talent but were the most heartless, stupid group of players I have seen in years. They just took for granite they were KU players.

This team played like crap 3/4 of the season. They won some tight games that could have gone either way. They somehow won the Big 12, which, after this weekend shows that they were a bunch of chumps.

Ellis is a great kid but he's highly introverted and looks like he's sad all the time.  Selden and Jamari are space cadets.

Which is hilarious, because he is far and away the worst player on the team. He's had a few big games, but not enough to warrant the liability of having him on the court. I honestly wish him and Greene would just transfer, because they are clearly of the opinion that putting on a Jayhawks uniform entitles them to not give a flip and/or play horrendously. I would include Jamari too, but I like him, and he's capable of hustling like a maniac. Hopefully he develops big time over the summer.

Losing to a commuter school full of dorks who couldn't hack it at KU hurts.

They are inferior to us and they are out hustling us. Out toughing us. Etc. This is embarrassing. We are losing due to effort and coaching. That's not acceptable. I'm fine with us losing to better players but that's not what's happening.

Them beating us means nothing....  makes them the same as VCU or Northern Iowa.....  a mid major with a complex. 

next season we should only schedule mid majors during the non conference. screw playing the ranked teams. what exactly is the point of having the #1 SOS if you are just going to get embarrassed by a mid major in the ncaa tournamant? not to mention winning the big 12 only to see half of the big 12 teams lose on the first day of the touranament. yeah big 12 is the best conference... what a joke.

Why? Did they move Wichta State's campus to a different city? The positives and negatives of playing them are no different today than they were a week ago. It's not like KU is booking guaranteed wins. Do we not remember our game @Temple this year? This doesn't change anything. We still gain less playing @WSU than we do @ any good team in a different recruiting area.

One team wins this stupid crap shoot of a tourney. One.

Losses like today are why we have so many fans who devalue what happens in the tournament. We dominate the little 12 and then procede to piss down our leg in March. If it were the other way around, nobody would give a sh*t whether we win the conference or not. But since it's not that way, so many fans put way too much stock into these worthless Big 12 titles.

Anyone who does not value conference championships is not a real KU fan. Who else do you want o win them? K-State?

The two are not mutually exclusive. However, for the sake of this argument, I would guess that OU or West Virginia would decline the opportunity to trade places with KU right now. And I am only slightly less confident that Iowa State would gladly give up its Big XII tourney title in exchange for two more points against UAB.

Play to seed and ku should definitely have more FR and NCs

Maybe we should start chanting "National Champs" instead of "B12 Champs" before every game.

Izzo gets a lot of credit, but he has underperformed in the FF where it matters most.

look guys, this loss is serious damage to our national reputation as a program. we just won't be taken as seriously. we were underdogs at tip in the round of 32 as a 2 seed for god's sake. and it was justified. we just dropped a notch or 2 or 3. and rightfully so, for the moment.

we do however, still, have the best home court advantage in the nation. but this will  probably hurt recruiting. we've gone down twice in a row as a 2 seed in the 2nd round, and this last time the nation saw it coming and yet it still happened, against a mid-major. couldn't be a worse development.

I disagree, KU won't have any trouble recruiting. Not like players were choosing Kansas over Kentucy anyway.

The whole OAD thing has worked for Kentucky because they are allow to just play. For what ever reason Bill Self is just not successful with OAD.

we do better with gritty vets than he does with flashy six-month types. If we had our same talent combined with WSU's heart, we would be unstoppable.

It was, basically, a replay of the Big 12 tournament final loss — so much so that Self opened his postgame press conference by congratulating Iowa State, before correcting himself to Wichita State.

self is a great coach but i do believe his best days may be behind him. and it doesn't make me less of a ku fan for saying that.

Bill Self risks becoming a guy like Bob Stoops or Mike Shanahan in Denver… guys who became complacent and stubborn to change.

are all clearly better than him at this point. And guys like Sean Miller, Bo Ryan and John Beilein are closing fast.

Bill has betting on the wrong horses both in recruiting and who gets minutes. Selden has been a double-whiff thus far. Perhaps he can turn it around but he blocked Frankamp last year, Svi, Graham, and Oubre (partially) this year, from playing and developing. I'll never understand why Mickelson didn't get more time this year. It would've been huge to have someone who could block some shots. Baffling. And then we get guys like Wiggins, Alexander, and Oubre. Good (Wiggins) to decent (Alexander) players but Okafor's, Winslow's, Russell's they are not. He's just not getting the right kind of talent.

Guyz, they figured it out. They need less 5 star's and more DITR gritters who will play hard and hit 3's.

Perhaps could evaluate how he puts together a roster. Seems to pass on local, Midwestern guys who are ballers, play hard and can consistently hit '3's.

Self took a lot of ish from the local media over the Morrii, Robinson, TT and Sherron being "thugs".  We had the KC Star routinely writing articles bashing our players for their attitudes and KK was calling for the school to cancel the program.  As stupid as that stuff was, it prolly didn't sit well with BGL.  Ever since that group of players, he's gone out and recruited exclusively S-A-W-F-T players, both in personality and physical play. 

I thought Cliff was goin to bring some of that attitude to the team, but we know how that worked out.

Just makes me wonder if Bill was told he needs to recruit more "image-friendly" players.
