ku would never hire gregG

probably not. I wonder who they'd go for?

Is KU a better job than Arizona?  I’d throw all the money in the world at Miller.
KU might be a slightly better job (tradition is really KUs biggest adv) but I don't see Miller leaving something that he already has up and running just to play in AFH in town with worse weather and more recruiting challenges.

i don't think that the appeal of running over a relatively weak b12, year in and year out, can be overstated.  with that said, i do think that bill self will leave KU for the NBA sooner rather than later.
no real rebuilding necessary either.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

It's instantly the best job unless Roy leaves the same year. But that doesn't necessarily mean they'd get whoever they want.

Tuscon is pretty isolated
its the same distance to PHX as MHK is to KC and it will always be easier to recruit Cali kids to AZ than KU.

Really, KU has the most in common with Indiana of all the blue bloods and that should give them real pause.  Hell, Indiana has much better regional recruiting than KU does.

The one thing I do know is that KU fans will be scared shitless with the Cheyenne Zulu/BGL braintrust making the hire.

Have to think Tony Bennett would be at the top of KU or UNC's list.

i don't think they'd offer just anyone.  seems like it would have to be the best of the younger long term guys?  the miller idea is a good one.  i would love for them to hire turgeon.
i'm also not sure if there are any nba guys who would consider the move but those guys are mostly all older and their age would disqualify them from consideration.

bennett is also a good younger long term stud candidate.  he's only 45, sheesh.

KU fans I talk to all say "Brad Stevens" over and over again.

It's like Kentucky and Louisville got a big time college guy that failed in the NBA, so they need to get one of those, too.

PHX/KC are irrelevant for a program the stature of AZ/KU. Really, national recruiting is far more important than both, but I would argue KU's proximity to Chicago and Texas and being closer to the East Coast is a lot more valuable.

And you are absolutely right that Indiana has much better natural recruiting base than KU does. (So does Notre Dame, for example).

Why would they want Turg?  That seems like a bad move for them, IMO.   :dunno:

If I were Zulu, I'd go after somebody who can recruit. Scott Drew would probably be one of my top choices.

Stevens is not failing at all in Boston. Their roster has been completely gutted for future 1st round picks and he has them 1/2 a game out of the playoffs. He's not leaving any time soon.

Could you guys even imagine the kind of talent Rick Barnes would get at Kansas?

Brad Stevens would hate the KU job, hates recruiting. KU fans have outrageous recruiting expectations to what limited resources they truly have (location).

This is correct. He's doing great.

MAYBE they would slum it for a member of Roy's staff.  CB is what, 38?

Steve Robinson is 57, I don't know how they keep it in the family.  cb is too young,  maybe they do go outside  when it was their own people that oversaw the mess that they're in now.

I don't know what some of you are doing with the Texas and Alabama jobs.  They are for all intents and purposes the same job.  Yes, Texas is absolutely better but all of the things people trumpet that makes Texas great, Alabama has the same elements.

They both have all the money a basketball program needs. They both are football schools in football states which leads to not nearly as much pressure on the basketball coach. They both play in conferences with one blue blood and a bunch of other schools that can easily be passed. They both have close access to many talented players. Alabama recruits Georgia, Florida,  Mississippi, Tennessee, and Louisiana just as easily as UT recruits east and west Texas.

If he's offered both UT is the better choice because they're more ready to win now but Alabama isn't nearly the pit some of you think it is. The $3 million was a starting point, Parrish said he wouldn't be surprised if they went to 4 or 5 for 3Gs.  He also said that Alabama will commit to improving facilities. Mike Slive apparently sent a directive to the schools outlining why it is important that they take basketball seriously. Finally Parrish said that Nick Saban will be actively involved in the bid for Marshall. He thinks Gregg will leave WSU for Alabama but will take UT if it's offered.
