Marshall has put himself in position to pretty much pick his job, if he even wants to leave Wichita.

alabama would be one of the least desirable power 5 jobs IMO. Its questionable where it even ranks in the SEC

It's rough ridin' stupid for him to go to Alabama, and he only needs to look at Anthony Grant and Shaka Smart to see why. Rebuilding is stupid hard when you haven't been a head coach at that level. If I were Marshall, I wouldn't take Indiana, Texas, or any other program that fired its previous coach. Hold out for Self or Cal retiring or going to the NBA or something.

Yeah, he can wait for what he wants.

This type of interest should get Wichita to pay him $2 Mil (or more) though. He's at $1.75 Mil now.

Roy will retire before Self or Cal. That being said, I really didn't think Self would ever leave for an NBA job. But I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Self considers it with the way his dumbass fanbase treats him. Maybe he doesn't care, but how the hell can you win 11 Big 12 titles in a row and have your fan base be unsatisfied because of your performance in the tournament after you won an NC 7 years ago?

he wants to leave Wichita because he wants to win a national title and you cant' do that without recruiting real honest to god bigs. I mean, he brought Hurt in for an official visit for god's sake.

I want him at Texas soooo badly but I think he might listen to somebody like Bama. He is a Southerner so I don't think he as hung up on being the HC at football school as his mannerisms might indicate. I do think he wants a job that has a roster that can win right away and Bama's top 2 scorers graduating makes it unlikely imo.

wherever he goes, it should be somewhere that the coach leaves in good standing. Like, if Anthony Grant had been kicking ass and took the Indiana job or something, then looking closely at Bama makes sense. The only case Marshall should consider replacing a fired coach is if Barnes for some stupid reason gets let go. But that's different, obviously.

I will be surprised if Barnes is back, if the new AD fired Mack after going 8-4 (7-2) with a chance to win the conference on the last game of the year there is no way he will keep Barnes.

Also, Donovan to the Magic rumblings are out there again and that job seems perfect for Gregg but I could see Florida preferring Shaka Smart.

Turgeon is about the only "family" hire. I don't think Shaka turned down UCLA and Illinois but takes KU. I could see a Jaime Dixon type taking it in a established coach needs a change of scenery kind of move.

The one thing I do know is that KU fans will be scared shitless with the Cheyenne Zulu/BGL braintrust making the hire.
