I have always liked the Sparty program and Coach Izzo.    And I know one thing for sure.   Wherever he goes in the NBA.....

I will be an Adreian Payne fan.

A kid who never gets a chance at life is the saddest thing in the world to me.  I had followed this story for some time.... I acutally heard about over a year ago.   Payne helped bring that little girl a little bit of joy in her last few months.   If he wasn't a basketball star, we never would have heard about it.  Although, the ultimate ending was tragic, I am glad this story reached me.  Somehow, my little problems of a 30 something year old male just seem freaking trivial.   This little girl knew death was coming for her and she had a smile to the very end.  #LovelikeLacy.

This is why I'll always hope Justin Blackmon gets his crap together.  I live one town over from where the little girl with leukemia that he befriended lives.  I worked with a lot of people from there.  Everyone around here knew about it a year before ESPN ran with it.  He was around her all the time and really became good friends with her.  The difference he made in her life and the impact on her family was unmeasurable.  I hate to see these sick kids stories, but the athletes that befriend them and make an effort to have a positive impact are are amazing.
