Welp, WVU.

Their fans can't be taking this well, Huggins is and should be in trouble, this is horrible for WVU.

They've fallen pretty hard since that final four.

Absolutely. That and the one tournament win with his own players.

Are Isaiah Austin and Wayne Selden really returning? Goodness.
according to the phog if seldon leaves he is a complete idiot (hes projected as a late 1st round)

Draft Express does not even have Selden going in the draft at all.  Not sure how reliable the site is, but it has been decently accurate in the past, at least for guys entering the draft, not necessarily where they get drafted.
yeah but in the NBA its all about ceiling, if he left he would get drafted. but why do you guys not want your players to have nice things?

Wayne Selden Jr. ?@WayneSeldenJr  23m
Want to let Jayhawk Nation know, I will be returning for my sophomore season!
Cant wait to get to work & get back in the fieldhouse #KUCMB

Tech shooting guard Dusty Hannahs had already announced his transfer, but now they've also lost Jordan Tolbert who was their best returning player.

Does the number of kids that transfer go up every year or is it just me?

Its happening more. This article from SI in January is pretty good: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-basketball/news/20140108/george-washington-colonials/

Quote
Of the 1,039 Division I men's basketball freshmen to enroll in 2010, 412 of them have transferred or left their initial school. That's a 40-percent clip. While four-year transfers have increased less than three percent since 2004, the caliber of players readily available has overhauled the traditional recruiting model in college basketball.

I don't think it really matters anymore.

To be fair, the Tech people on twitter are saying he wants to be closer to home (DFW area) and that his dad died in the last year. Which is convenient for SMU I suppose.

That wasn't his rep at Minnesota.  He was known more for being an uptight hardass.  Old school, conservative.  It drove some guys off iirc.

Quote
Asked whether he believed there was a common denominator between he and the other players – Joseph, Paul Carter, Royce White, Justin Cobbs – that have left in recent years, Iverson said he thought there might be similar reasons, but wouldn't elaborate the details.

Iverson said he always had a lot of respect for Gophers coach Tubby Smith and learned a lot under his coaching guidance. He said the defensive-minded system could have had an effect on some offensive-minded players, but that defense was always his personal strength.

Still transfers happen everywhere now.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

Wonder if Larry Brown planted the idea of transferring. :horrorsurprise:

Assuming he isn't going to transfer down a rung and he's going to stay high major literally the only school he can transfer to and be closer is SMU. I'm not at all in favor of restricting movement of transfers but in this case I would absolutely be okay with Tech blocking a transfer to SMU. The only way out would be okay is if he requested to the coaches that he wants to go home and the coaches worked it out, otherwise if I were Tubby I would wonder about tampering.

I'm also shocked that he only averaged 10 a game, seemed like his impact war far greater
