Flip Saunders is the Minnesota GM
Quote
"It's not the right opportunity for him to go to the NBA," Saunders told Hartman, "Do I feel someday he's going to be in the NBA? There's no question. He's going to be there. From a timing perspective, no matter where it's at, this is not the time."

that's too bad, i want this lying scumbag out of our league asap.  sadly, it looks like saunders is caught up in "the mayor's" little charade.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I think it's kind of sad that ISU employs the two coaches that are considered the biggest liars in the Big 12. More like Iowa Sketch if you ask me.

Can you imagine the tall tales that those two have rolling off their forked tongues in the recruiting process?

Stephen F. Austin coach Brad Underwood, a former Kansas State assistant for six seasons under Bob Huggins and Frank Martin, has not been contacted by Missouri, though Underwood told The Star on Tuesday that he’d be interested.

“That’s an unbelievable job,” he said. “That’s my type of job. The basketball aside, it’s been a great spot for many years with a ton of great players. It’s a great university, but I’m still the coach at Stephen F.”

Unless Mizzou is about to make a Gregg Marshall HR-type hire, they look really really dumb right now. Or they are just giving up on basketball.

if he truly does have a heart issue - and i want to be clear that i personally don't believe he does, the last place he will want to be is in ames, iowa, hundreds of miles from the closest competent cardiologist.

like i said though, i believe this heart thing is made up.  i'm guessing he came up with the idea to make recruits feel sorry for him so that they would transfer there.  "listen royce white, if you don't transfer here i might die"  type of crap.  very low brow.

I'm not sure that you know exactly what you're talking about...

...Sorry, didn't mean to fly off the handle like that...

To be fair, MU finally hired a coach capable of making a F4 run...

It's a very meh hire to me and a lot others. It's hard to project his D2 success to D1. I know he played there, but it just feels like a lazy hire to me.

Because they had to hire a recruiting firm to get a guy that would have taken the job no questions asked, that's what's so funny.  Also, I'm assuming here, that Anderson was at the bottom of their list, so that's also funny.  It's clearly pretty funny.

Its worse than if we hired Steve Henson, when Frank left, after being told no by clearly everyone else we could call for two weeks.

Yes, it is funny they wasted 50,000 or whatever it was. And I doubt he was on the bottom of the list. The guy won 75% of his games at Central Mizzou. They weren't going to shell out the big bucks to steal a high profile HC. I'm sure they would have rather of had Ben Howland but he probably turned them down.

This would be us hiring Bob Chipman when Altman left.

Football school. Good move.
