I have a weird feeling this could be another '11/'12 type season. Relatively unknowns on offense, and a good defense.

If it's going to be either of those years, it'll be 2011, not 12. 12 Was established, we knew who our guys were. The real question was much rather if winning a bunch of close game the previous year was a fluke or not, and 12 came back a resounding "we're much better". Granted last year was kinda like 2011 but in reverse, where we lost a lot of close games instead of winning them. We did after all blow 2 games (TCU, OSU) with sizeable HT leads that normally we are so good at shutting the door on. Though that would make us be 8-5. Not 10-3.

That's why I meant, 2011.

If he really was a badass then he would have ended up at TCU but he didn't so he's not.

Also, isn't he from iowa?

Jesse Ertz doesn’t know whether to introduce himself as a sophomore or a junior.

That’s how bizarre his college football career has been.

“I’m old, whatever I am,” Ertz said Tuesday at Kansas State’s first media session of the spring. “It’s unfortunate, but it is also a good opportunity to learn, gain experience and improve.”

Ertz, a quarterback, began taking college courses in 2013. So in academic terms he is a junior on track to graduate next year. But Ertz also likely has three years of eligibility remaining. By athletic standards, he is a redshirt sophomore.

Im nervous. The Sisco kid would get destroyed running the CK offense, and even if he is as good a passer as Waters, I'm not sure we have a receiver comparable to Sexton on this team, much less Lockett. :frown:

Ran into one of the K-State players I know at lunch

today and he said Ertz is a total stud at QB. We've heard this previously from various GPC staff but hearing it in a conversation directly from a player and with the strong conviction and voice inflection, provided some increased confidence that he may indeed become a special player. Players love his leadership as well, something that was missing last year.

He obviously needs to stay healthy and his O-Line does need to develop and mature quickly (another comment that supports what we've heard previously) but Jesse sounds like the real deal!

He also said Alex has great potential at QB but that Jesse is, without question, the number one guy. Not sure what this means for Alex longer term.

K-State will seemingly need to find a way to get Delton on the field to keep a guy who was thinking he was going to be getting a lot of playing time his true Freshman year feeling like this is still the right place for him. The latter comments are my own thoughts not necessarily this player's.

I haven't heard if he is any good or not, but I have heard that he put on 10-15 more lbs of muscle this year.  Hopefully that will allow us to get a game or two out of him.

Hopefully all that weight was in the beefing up of knee ligaments.

his head alone requires that much additional weight to be an average sized head

I've decided that I am going to watch katz games completely not giving a eff and no emotion.  That may change depending on the interception to  time ratio, but we will see.

Even if Ertz doesn't get hurt, it's hard to imagine that he would not have some serious issues being calm in the pocket after a couple serious knee injuries.

And Delton would have played plenty if he had stayed healthy last year. He can't be that disappointed, just keep sawing wood.
