You don't die if the thing you warg into dies.  You will be in bad shape.  In the case of wargging into an animal and die you'll be fine, see Orell. 
And the Horn of Joramun (or Horn of Winter) has been introduced.

Which I don't remember what happened to it after being found.  Maybe Sam still has it, don't know.  I could see him mistaking what it's for and blowing it thinking it might help.

Hopefully people don't ruin the season finale with screen caps and other spoilers.
