Anybody else find it increadibly ironic that this happened the same day Goddell handed down the player suspensions for bountygate?

Also, the Jets have 2 first round picks at QB.

i have tebow in the "novelty" round. i can't in good conscience acknowledge that an nfl team actually drafted him as a qb in the 1st..

elway cleaned that crap up. executive of the decade.
even if peyton goes all brady against the chiefs and misses the entire year, using his signing to banish tebow w/o fan backlash would still be worth it.

Definitely a great move by Elway, but you have to think if Manning misses more than half the season or gets injured late in the season and can't play in the playoffs the "why the hell did we trade Tebow, he could have led us to the Super Bowl" talk will start up.

Seriously dissapointed in there being no Okie St. references in this thread. Or was this before OSU 2.0? Too lazy to look up dates.

Wow, good luck to whatever team you cheer for user _42.  :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

RE Montana not moving up without Montana State: that's sweet. I don't know anything about Montana State other than that it's where Jonathan Beasley got fat, but I always think it's weird when there's a state without a single D-1 football team. In a perfect world everyone would get at least a little little D-1 love.
 :frown:

They are D-1, just not FBS. South Dakota, North Dakota, Delaware, Rhode Island, and Maine don't have FBS programs, either.

And Alaska, New Hampshire, and Vermont

outside of the most important position, the chiefs have the best roster in the division. next year, they better give up a couple 1st rounders, move up and take one of the Tyler's (Wilson/Bray) because they won't be able to get Barkley. and they better laugh in Landry Jones face. if they go into another year with cassel/anyothercrappyjourneymanfailure... i will be finished. i will quit them.

Just imagine if they had the same roster, only Peyton Manning at QB. God forbid they mortgage the future, though.

maybe.. my issue wasn't "mortgaging the future" btw.. just wish the chiefs would join the rest of the nfl in recognizing that qb is the cornerstone, not the final piece.

While I'm not sure Carl Peterson ever recognized it, I'm sure Pioli does. The problem has been matching up the opportunity with him realizing that Cassel isn't it. In '08 he could have got Flacco, but that was right after acquiring Cassel and thinking he was the future same with Sanchez in '09 (not that Sanchez is really any better anyway). '10 was Bradford and a bunch of crap. Probably should have taken Dalton last year but that was coming off the playoffs and I'm sure they where convinced Cassel had turned a corner. This year they weren't getting Luck or RG3, Tannahill sucks, Cleveland wanted Weeden too bad for the Chiefs to have a shot without WAY overreaching and anyone else was Stanzi 2.0. They tried for Manning and he wasn't interested. Next year looks like it could be a pretty deep QB draft so hopefully they don't pull a typical Chiefs and be just good enough to not be able to get one of them.

What's the streak at now and where does it rank nationally?  TIA.

19 years, not sure. D. Scott tweeted it was 2nd in the Big 12.

20 And Counting!

Kansas State has an early end to the drama of one uping reality show family as Heisman winner Klein is selected first overall

The tweets are what they are, its the internet.  For me the story is in the comments, there is a guy outing these people with addresses, where they go to school, girlfriends, etc.  Not surprisingly most of the dumb tweets are from kids 15-20 most of the likely listen to Drake.  These kids who did this who are, well likely were, college hockey players are morons.

Dude has a shot ton of potential.  If you were able to forget the Chiefs' recent history with 1st round DLs, he would be much more exciting. He is a bit of a gamble but so is pretty much every draftee.  Not a great pick but not a horrible one either.

As far as potential, yea, it's a great pick that fills the biggest need (yes bigger than QB, by far) and he'll get a ton of playing time to prove himself. I just see bust written all over him and I hope I'm wrong.

Lets hope for Kuechley or DeCastro  :driving:

:crossfingers: my top 2 choices also, not true needs for the team, but most likely to be impact players at their positions

Tannehill sucks. Would rather have Russell Wilson or Weeden.

Right now my ideal draft scenario for the Chiefs would be to take DeCasto at 11 and Weeden in the 2nd.

Would not be against this. Still need to address the nose tackle though. Anyone out there in free agency?

Don't know, just hope they don't take Poe. He has bust written all over him. I'd rather they gamble on the Jean-Baptiste kid from Baylor.

Poe has potential and he is athletic. At 346 lbs, he ran a 4.87 forty and ran a 1.7 10-yard split. That's pretty impressive for his size.

And he did absolutely nothing in the CUSA. There's plenty of athletic D-lineman who have failed in the NFL (remember the guy who jumped out of a swimming pool a few years back?). It's impressive, but most of the time the impressive combine numbers+poor production=bust

Am hearing a lot that America is clamoring for this game to continue.

Would love seeing the KU butthurt the first time some national idiot mentions something like continuing one of the nations biggest rivalries.

we need a guy with a fun last name on the team, soon enough and no more mcgruuuuuuuder calls. i can hear it now.. MICHAEL gbIIIINIIIIJEEE
...meh, buchi awaji was always my favorite name announced.

We had plenty of "fun" names to announce back in the Wooly years... Gilson DeJesus anyone? I'd rather have some more Martavious's and Angel's.

With the announcement that Angel will be back, if we only get a 7 seed next year oscar has failed and failed bad.

anyways from what i heard, oscar was at MoKan's practice last Thursday, the players LOVED him

Is it considered illegal benefits to buy high school kids chicken nuggets after AAU practice? If not, I always loved me some DQ (all we had) after practice in HS. Could this be a unforeseen benefit of the Weber hire :dunno:

 what a boring game.

Yea, first game I've watched on FSN and yep, Hudler is horrid. Almost like listening to Zoolander try to call a game.

3446
They do that down here at Wichita Thunder games too. But I guess most of them aren't  :kstategrad:enough for more than 1 team t-shirt.

At this point I'm actually hoping they go with the G from Stanford DeCastro(sp?). I know it probably pushes Lilja to the bench but that guy looks like he's going to be a stud. Winston/DeCastro/Hudson/Asumoh/Albert could be opening some pretty big running lanes for a long time.

yes, confirmed.  a cow.

where did/do you go to school?  :dubious:

I hate to go all HF&RIQ here, but, not a cow.

Definition of COW

1
a : the mature female of cattle (genus Bos)
b : the mature female of various usually large animals (as an elephant, whale, or moose)
2 : a domestic bovine animal regardless of sex or age

Went to KState, born and raised on a Kansas farm thank you very much

Hearing more and more reports that the Chiefs interested in Ryan Tannehill at #11 if he's still there. Thoughts?

Hopefully Cleveland picks him first
