it took jaime too long probably but man his jungle book arc is bitb. he's going to join up with brienne now right?

also brienne is easily the worst actor in the entire show. SAD!

Bold prediction time. Final scene next season is Bran warging and suddenly opening his eyes and they're bright blue then he slowly rises out of his chair. Immediate black, credits roll, series over.

George Foreman has five sons named George Foreman (all alive) so I don't see the big deal about the Aegon thing.

LOL. Yes! that is exactly what I was thinking too! Who does Rhaegar think he is? George Forman? Why didn't he name is daughter Aegonys?

Lyanna named the kid, rheagar was ded

Yeah, I still haven't pieced it all together, but that's probably right.

We know that Rhaegar goes south with Lyanna and they get married (and she even looks pregnant in the flashback). Then he heads back north to fight Robert and loses. Then Robert descends to Kings Landing and kills Rhaegar's ex-wife (did she even know?) and kids. Then Ned continues south to find Lyanna.

So we know that Rhaegar was dead by the time Jon was born, and Rhaegar's other kids were still alive the last time he and Lyanna were still together.

So I really doubt Rhaegar said to Lyanna before he left "hey, let's name this kid Aegon if he's a boy - cause that won't be confusing at all what with the line of succession thing."

So it's likely that Lyanna picked the name herself later. Question is, did she know when she picked it that Aegon v1 had been killed? I'm guessing yes, because it's likely the news from KL made to the TOJ before Ned did, right? I mean somebody would have sent a warning to Dayne, right?

So I guess that explains why Lyanna picked the name - using the same name symbolized that one boy had replaced the other in the line of succession. Still a little creepy but might make sense to Lyanna.

I'm sure I'm way over-thinking this but it's interesting!

I knew that they were going to turn on Littlefinger as soon as Arya walked into the room but it was still so satisfying. I was a little surprised he begged so much.

LF's end was so predictable that I didn't predict it. I've gotten so used to key characters not sharing information, even when they're in the same place, that I didn't consider that Bran might behave rationally and tell his sisters what's up. The whole "having a guy who can tell you everything's that's going on" thing makes the sister squabble a bit superfluous at this point.

I'm glad that it's (hopefully) wrapped up now because the Winterfell crap was easily the most tedious part of this season, right?

This same kind of thinking is why Tyrion is definitely up to something. We never saw the ending of his convo with Cersei.

Yes, I am also wondering what is going on with Tyrion.

As far as the incest thing, Dany was originally expecting to marry her brother so hooking up with her nephew is less incesty so it should be ok.

I like how Bran was condescendingly explaining to Sam how "Sand" is the bastard name in Dorne before Sam told him the whole story.

Good point. That whole scene was extremely weird, and it really didn't make sense to cut off at Tyrion asking if she was pregnant - unless the writers are hiding something.

The show was set up to emulate the political environment of medieval Europe.  Rhaegar's son would have been Aegon VI, like Henry VIII.

I mean, I get that the show and the books split, but I'm not thrilled that they merged Jon/Aegon.  Of course, they merged Jorah and Jon Connington, so, hey, whatever.

But the symbolism that you need to remember is that Dany rides Drogon, and the remaining dragon is Rhaegal.  Her three dragons were named after the men in her life that died (Drogo, Rhaegar, and Viserys).  Viserys turned on her, and Viserion is the one the Night King is riding.

My guess is that Dany will ride Drogon, and Jon will ride Rhaegal.

I now seriously wonder how they're going to work Azor Ahai into this, but whatever.  I think I know, but I'm not happy if that's how they choose to do it.

I like that Bran has warged into this show's version of the Star Trek computer. Sam: "I read that Lyanna and Rhaegar were secretly married - go take a look!" Bran: "Checks out."

ok the silence before the dragon came could have gone on for about 15 seconds longer
