apparently the athletic dept. is calling directly to sell their holiday and conference ticket packages (during the blowout to Georgetown lol).  was an easy chance to tell them I'm not buying till Weber is gone.  I felt bad for the girl calling, though it seems she was well prepared for the response.

Several new starters this year--no problem.  This line is almost never penalized, run blocks awesome--including getting all the tough yards, has protected Klein against bigger supposedly very talented D-lines with no real issue...I'm very impressed.  This guy is worth every penny.  A great hire by Snyder and an underated part of our success.

Disapointed this has sat untouched for so long.  I realize it is in support of ku cancer research but real emawers should be able to look past this cheap ploy. Maybe paint ku=cancer?  :dunno: Im not real creative but something should have been done by now.

an unranked snyder team has never beaten a ranked team?  seems so unlikely.

such a sweet win though.

Tech Support and Suggestion Board / multi page threads

there needs to be an easier way to get to specific pages of a really big thread.  I.E. The cigars thread is 400 pages now, its pretty much hopeless to go back to page 310 or wherever and start reading without clicking through 2 pages at a time.

i think we are playing at a higher level now than at this point last season.  the wins over ku and @texas were better than any wins we had last year.

the starting 5 and overall depth appear stronger.  the loss of denis appears to be overcome by an even better pullen, an upgrade at the 3 with mcgruder, an at least equal or better kelly, and an upgrade with JHR over colon.  samuels is a little down though.  southwell, doc, and irving provide depth at guard we didnt have.

statistically we aren't as good, though this yr we are obviously dragged pretty far down by our early conference stats.

It'll be tough to top the postseason accomplishments of last season, but at least now there is a chance to match.

Kansas State Football / time to get rid of the football board
« on: January 04, 2011, 07:30:33 PM »
theres really no point to it.  As long as Snyder 2.0 is here every season will be the same with the same tired topics like "we can't recruit" or "we can't play defense" and we will end up with the same boring repetitive and predictable 7 win seasons.

the only interesting topics anymore deal with making fun of other schools or are about college football in general.

without some kind of drastic change before next fall its going to be hard to care a whole lot.  Chris Cosh has destroyed me.

Thoughts:

Defensively we really pushed xavier out wide on the court in the first half.  they could not get it inside and forced a lot of long shots.  that little ginger kid redford hit a few wide open 3's but that was it.  sutton and energy combined to shut down crawford.  JHR had some decent minutes and kelly/jamsam denied love and frease not only the ball, but also the glass.  in the 2nd half xavier decided to push it more and drive inside.  most of the game the only way xavier could really score was in transition and very early in the shot clock.  we went zone halfway through the 2nd half to try and stop their penetration and it worked ok.  xavier certainly didn't shoot us out of it.  we did foul a lot and it cost us some in rebounding though.  xavier never threatened, we lead by DD the whole 2nd half.

Offensively we destroyed them inside with kelly/jamsam, we are just more athletic than love/frease.  short jumpers, putbacks, getting to the line, xavier really struggled to defend the paint.  our gaurds were able to pass the ball fairly cleanly to the paint.  struggled outside, pullen/clems had 2 pts at the half.  irving hit a few deep shots but that was it from the perim at the half.  2nd half we slowed it up and just kept going to the foul line.

overall an ugly game but u have to like the adv down low with the bodies and athleticism we can throw at them.  assume pullen/clems can play better this time around and hopefully sutton can duplicate his effort defensively.  I feel pretty good about this game, i dont see where xavier has a big edge to exploit.  they'd just have to shoot lights out and we miss and don't bring it energy wise.  EMAW.   :ksu:

seems like the biggest missing piece to me.   Too often our guards can barely get their shots up in the lane in the halfcourt.   maybe magruder (6'4") or russell (6'4") can become this.  or maybe down the line we develop someone at the "3" who can penetrate without turning it over half the time (n. williams or southwell?).

this really has became apparent with what i've seen us end up with when we needed a basket in certain games.

who'd get the 1 seed if we tied?  TIA.
