Lots of branding speak in that article from administrators, always makes me nauseous....on the financials side of this, it has to be good for the KSU Cats right? Or is the craptastic KSUHD actually a cash cow? I think the PAC 12 may have passed on a similar deal with ESPN. This makes Larry Scott a confirmed idiot.

Mean Gene Taylor had this to say, so maybe we'll get about the same as we got from owning our own 3rd tier rights?

Let's enjoy this for Coach Beard and a fanbase that never saw it coming several years ago.

Dean couldn't stay on the floor, which isn't oscar's fault. Dean's body was going to react this way at whatever school he played with. Tech and UVA are proof that oscar style slow it down can win. Let me remind everyone that Doke going down for KU was HUGELY impactful on the conference race. What an epic conference race it would've been with KU at full strength and Dean healthy. But still, oscar needs to prove it a little more in the dance. And this Tech team is better than oscar's elite 8 squad, but that says more about Tech than any oscar deficiency.

He hates recruiting by all accounts so he’s going to need a couple of assistants that are delonte types

as i recall hoiberg feasts off the transfers. so he only needs a few weeks each  year to recruit. seeing how many transfers are playing such a big role on these final 4 teams begs the question how much are the transfers being paid?
they appear to be almost a necessity to win big nowadays
and weber can't get one which tells me they are getting paid

It seems lots of squads, some with success, some without success, are getting transfers. It's more a general change in the environment affecting most every program. Now that we're in the Final 4, idiot media push idiot talking points about how "transfers get you to the final 4".

Also, fwiw, Nebraska is a sleeping giant, they show up to that arena. Not sure Fred is the guy to activate the wins, but he's better than Tim Miles. The Big Ten, right now, is a beast however.

Why associate with the PAC in this way? They need us more than we need them. We need Walton, plus some other concessions for this to make any sense.

Also, I'm in favor of the thing that gets win the dang day to bowl games, I don't think this proposal helps. I don't like to miss my roadtrips to Memphis and Tempe. We're going to be so barely above average. Get pumped. I prefer to beat Arizona State during college bowl season. Win the dang day CK against Herm under the lights of the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, if that's even a thing anymore, would be grand.

Some talk of changing OT -- 2 point conversions from the outset? Eliminating kickers entirely in OT? Offenses starting 10 to 15 yards further from the end zone?

Also, Bowlsby quoted in relation to proposed change in targeting rule. Sounds like it'll fail, because the officials aren't supportive, but they are considering (again) a two tiered penalty. Less severe targeting would not result in ejection, more severe targeting would result in ejection.  I've seen some questionable ejections for targeting the last few seasons, this two tiered system seems to make sense. The committee meets in Indy at the end of the month.

I assume he went to App St. after 2015, now to the Cats. Seems like he jumps around a lot, and to some pretty big name schools. Hope that's not a red flag.

How common is it for a position coach to jump this much? I just figure you resigned Mo Latimore every year and you were okay, but we're special at Kansas State. What's his recruiting pedigree?

No one, as in any program, is getting hammered. The NCAA is too chicken crap for that anymore. It'll be par for the course, adults doing bad by kids, either through bribery or through the design and legitimization of a system that penalizes them for valuable labor. Let them go pro, eliminate athletic scholarships.
