KSU commit Chris Gaynor visiting TCU this weekend

https://sports.yahoo.com/olemiss/football/recruiting/player-Chris-Gaynor-170334

He just decommitted

I'm interested to see how he does at TCU.

Was he a December grad?

Don't know, but guessing not.  Usually if it's a December grad, it's pointed out pretty quickly in every recap of the player.

Abdul Beecham, OT/OG, from Blinn CC announcing tomorrow.

I think the coaching staff just wants a few more guys to add depth before the High School OL recruited in the last 3 years are ready to play.

No idea how well the OL recruited the last 3 years have developed, but they were quite "heralded" by KSU standards

2014 Class
Dalton Risner- started every game this season as RS FR.  Offered by ASU, Cal, Col, Mizzou
Alec Ruth - Oregon State only other P5 offer

2015 Class
Evan Applegate - Offered by Arkansas, KU, Minn, Nebraska, Okie State
Scott Frantz - Offered by ISU, KU, the U, Minn, Missouri, Purdue
Evan Curl - Offered by BYU, ISU
Adam Holtorf - One of the first commits of his class.  No other P5 offers.  Not sure if bc he shut down his recruitment (like Delton), or no other interest
Tyler Mitchell - No other P5 Offers.  Late add to the class

2016 Class (so far)
Zach Shackelford - ASU, Houston, Illinois, ISU, Okie St, Purdue, Texas
Blake Hickey - Cal, Duke, Houston, Illinois, KU, Northwestern, Purdue, Syracuse

The 2013 and 2012 class? 4 OL commits, and a TOTAL of 3 P5 Offers, and 1 was KU, and the other two belong to Aderius Epps, who transferred out last year

So what I'm saying is that we do have young talent, so if we don't get the Juco guys we want, I think it will be ok.  We are recruiting juco OL this year because of the whiffs in the 2012 and 2013 class.

I don't know anything about recruiting, but seeing a qb wear 7 makes me happy.

With English gone...
Maybe OBz and company will look at Ivy again (since he decommitted from Okie Lite). Ivy seems sketchy tho.
Back for more bad takes.

UPDATE: I'm now hearing from a source of my own that Beecham will select K-State. Source spoke with him this morning and remains confident Beecham will choose the Wildcats.

?@GPCwallace As I've reported before, K-State landing @TweetsByBeech_ is also very important factor in recruiting @BigGwop58. They'd be quite a duo.

Bye, Bye Breontae  :frown:

So with English leaving, how bad will the d line be next year (specifically tackles), and are we doing anything about it?

This is a big problem. I think we were looking for 1 DT this class and we should now be looking for 2, but we've whiffed on pretty much all our top targets so far this year. If we get any, they're going to be Trey Dishon-type that comes out of nowhere close to signing day. If we don't get any, we are going to be really thin up front next year.

I fully expect a very late DT signing from a Cali JUCO in May or June to fill the spot English left.

I don't think next year is really when it will be a problem. There's unproven and unknown quality of depth, but English being here didn't really change that. Gear Bear, Seiwert, and Hood then either one of the someone like Settles or Dishon will probably get most of the snaps and I would guess Woods or Willis could kick inside if needed. The problem is English leaving leaves us with a very small number of DTs in the FR/SO classes next season.

DE is probably the thinner of the line positions for next year (though several LBs could probably play DE too). The difference is we already have 2 DE commits and I think Loudermilk is considered a DE prospect.

It's Juco signing time for DECEMBER graduates.  That's Beecham and maybe Pringle.
