He is the QB because this staff didn't recruit for crap, and ran off a kid because Dana Dimel didn't like his high stepping.   When your options after Ertz, are:

The slowest converted receiver in history.

A Freshman

A JC Transfer who just got to campus.

Several other nobodies.

You haven't recruited for crap.

They recruited fine, next season we will have the best QB from Iowa in his year, the best QB from Kansas in his year, and the best QB from Missouri in his year who nearly was an elite 11 QB. They've made plenty of mistakes we can crap on, this isn't one.
Possibly... If they all return next year.  Dimel will run one of them off.

Still zero difference makers at the RB position.   DITR wet dream at WR.

That's next year, why are we pointing to next year, at year 6 of Snyder II?

and this year, and two years ago

Too early to tell with Silmon and Warmack is one of the most heralded recruits we've ever had. You got me on the wide outs although they don't seem to be as bad as some thought they would be.

The depth at WR should also prove this.

Braet and Coleman are our only consistent recruiters

Womack isn't seeing the field, and Silmon shows no home run threat at all.   But then again, we rarely get the second level blocked, or fool anybody with the ball in the RB's hands.

Hubener is the type of QB you love when he's on the other team.  It's like finally we get to play against this big slow guy and also he throws a ton of incomplete passes.  You know what I'm saying?  Like when you say "whew it's a good thing this other team's QB sucks because that guy was wide open."  Well that will be said about 5,000 times by fans of other teams this year when playing KSU.

He is awful.  3-9 with an int.  4 rushes for 8 yards.  I think we were all giving Hubener a bit of a pass because of the perceived lack of talent at WR but then a WR came in to play QB and didn't seem to have any trouble finding open WR's.  Hubener is probably worst QB we've had since AE.

He went on the game winning drive.

Then our ST kicked the ball out of bounds, our D gave up a 4th and 8 conversion and oSu continued to drive down the field for a chip shot FG.

That drive was essentially one play, it seems clear that he can't consistently move the ball without getting a bomb and he isn't dynamic enough in the QB run game to be a legitimate threat.

The take away from this game for me is how in the world is he the starting QB?

I don't disagree with your assessment of Bazooka Joe.  He is what he is.

But Joe was likely out there concussed and still got us the lead.  This is not on the offense, the offense all things considered was stellar.  This loss is on ST and defense.  The defense made two huge plays, the ST made zero and several huge negatives.

If the kick out of bounds or the missed FG were huge negatives the blocked PAT was also huge. Also Walsh had a great punt in that second half stretch where the offense gave up one score in what 4 possessions and the offense was 3 and outing their way through the half.

How was he allowed back in the game after literally being knocked unconscious? Was that a crime?

It's unbelievable. A reporter should ask Bill about this.

I don't think being knocked out means you also have a concussion  :dunno:

It doesn't necessarily, but you should have to be cleared by a doctor before returning to play. Without being privy to what went on behind the scenes I have no idea if that occurred or not in order to make a judgement on this situation.

Snyder said he cleared the concussion protocol during his postgame press conference.

While I agree that Snyder tells a lot of white lies, I want to believe that he wouldn't put a guy back in if he was really concussed.

On TV it looked like the trainers etc. were putting BZKJ through the process

FACT: One can be knocked out WITHOUT being concussed.

FACT: One can be concussed without being knocked out.

Concussions are serious business and I have no doubt our medical staff did everything right to check him before clearing him short of an actual CAT scan

Curious where are you getting that.
I'd understand it more if your argument was being unconscious speaks nothing of the severity, which is where the medical staff did their job properly in diagnosis. Thought the definition of a concussion was loss of normal brain function due to head trauma.

Will Hubes be eligible for a medical redshirt if it's a concussion rather than just a knockout?
