To me the key aspects of a comparison are

-on the hot seat at current school or recently was
-mediocre record with some past success
-currently at a school with worse program than Kstate, but still power 5
-retread city, no enthusiasm generated
-Kstate coaching tree through someone who doesn't care about Kstate
-inherited some success and promptly started a long nose dive

lacks any real success, but hits most all of the other points. also part of the Stoops tree which makes him close to a Keady-like protégé, which I think has to be considered a big factor.

not a perfect fit, but was under the Fry tree. Ended up getting canned in 2015 by UNT, so not power 5. This task is becoming hard, yet fun, yet depressing.

The thing that was a big selling point for a lot of folks with oscar is he got as close to a national title as you can without winning it before starting his slide. Makes guys like Tuberville, Chizik, and Mahlzahn (if he got fired) top similarities. All Auburn guys! Also the Oregon coach.

true, but we heard how big dumbass Keady was involved in the deal. we probably won't find a perfect candidate, but again, depressingly fun!
