Book a reservation for dinner at The Listening Room and hear songwriters sing their hits and tell stories about them. Not going for the food, it’s fine, just a cool experience if you like country music.

If you want some karaoke check out Santa’s Pub. Or if you just feel like smoking heaters in a bar again (I warned you). Cash only and serve cold beers from a kitchen fridge.

Losers house band was fantastic.

Broadway is fine and best during the day in a rooftop. Bring sunglasses.  :gocho:

Grady Dick walked into the locker room and right by Jerome Tang. Who was what the heck is he doing in our locker room? Dick walked up to a sitting Tomlin and tapped him on the dhoulder and said: "Lace 'em tight; it's going to be a long day." Tomlin got off the bench, wrapped Dick in a choke hold, picked him up and threw him head first in a waste basket. "Just don't get your skinny white ass in my way to dunking on bitches," Tomlin said calmly.

Yes, I know this won't happen and is just a response to some weird sqwawk-nation wetdream, but I don't know who KU has to matchup with Tomlin on defense.

Cake eater.

Dick is from Edina?

For one, winning the Sugar Bowl would definitely have an impact on our ranking going into next year, which has an effect more generally on how “quality” wins are perceived next year in the Big 12, which increases our chances of getting into the cfp. I mean it’s basically how the SEC has positioned itself as routinely having a good shot of landing at least one if not two teams in the cfp.

This is a pretty good point I haven't considered. I don't think it would "definitely" have an impact on next year's preseason ranking but it might.

(Generally the SEC isn't anything special in NY6 bowls so I don't agree that's why they consistently have multiple cfp teams)
I don’t disagree on that last point, but I do think it’s a reason why number of 10+ win seasons matter. The more often you crush the regular season +postseason exhibition, the more likely your resume will get looked at just slightly better for the cfp than some upstart team with the same (or even 1 fewer) losses.

Any examples of this actually happening during the 4-team CFP era?
I think the year Baylor & TCU got locked out in favor of Ohio State is top of mind for most folks.

I think (consistent) 10 win seasons are important in that it helps* recruiting. Alabama is always preseason top 3 because, “they’re going to lose these players to the draft, but their previous 2-3 recruiting classes include the biggest, fastest kids to prevent any drop off”.

That’s where I think losing OU and Texas hurt the most, we’re not going to get credit for beating teams that are perceived as worse simply because recruiting services said this 17 year old is better than another one. Nobody (espn pundits) seems to care what the stats say.

*10 wins are great, but it’s gonna take more Porsches.

Maybe we should go after Bryce Cohoon. 3* with Track speed and chemistry with Avery.

The signature drink is the "Grey Goose Honey Deuce" which is a rhyme and a pun and also includes honeydew shaped like tennis balls. They are $22.

My wife brought raspberry liquor home today and I asked what that was for... yeah, I guess I'm drinking honey deuces this weekend too!

Jealous you're there, great experience.

Sounds like they already put a bow on scholly #13 as well.  Will I be attending my first ever KSU NCAA tourney game this year? I believe so.

Who is that?

Hugecat has a theory but appears to have deleted it from the portaling thread.

I am close w some people that are close friends with the Krause family (owners of K&G) they have a major complex when it comes to Casey’s and QT. I know they’ve tried to break into some of QTs stronghold markets and have failed pretty miserably at it.

Are you an SAE?

K&G built a huge office downtown Des Moines  and it’s literally across the street from one of the last QTs in town. Which I find funny.

But as MIR said, Kwik Trip/Star is on a whole different level. Hand breaded chicken tender, angus cheeseburgers and this ridiculously cheap gas they market as E88 to fill up the rental car before returning. So much to love.

I probably spent more time in Brandeberry than actually watching the game in the early 90s. So much 2v2 football and “high” jump practice going on in there.

Not a weed reference, just no bar, so we would run and dive on the pads.

Assuming this is Edwards

https://twitter.com/BGInews/status/1552672113454096387

Yeah, a little odd considering how emaw he’s been.

It's a 17 year old getting a free trip to Notre Dame. I believe he had one or two officials left to take.

July 25th-31st is a period in which HS juniors cannot take officials, he is there on his own dime.

Timing is odd, gets (announces) offer and is on campus 12 hours later  :dunno:

Wellll we just offered a 2* who only had offers from Georgia Southern and Lamar…..so yeah.

He’s now a 4* committed to Houston — saw blurb about him coming out of Peach Jam this weekend.

If you ain’t got 4 stars you ain’t a mega stud bruh

Crazy, assumed this kid was 4 stars based on his sweet one handed highlight grabs/MVReceiver at Elite 11. Size is there, hands are. Is he slow or 247 just lazy on his ranking?

You're going to be tempted or your wife to buy a bunch of overpriced crap that you either won't use ever or seldom do. Do not do that.

We just started looking in the secondary market for a Snoo. I don't think the kid needs crazy overpriced "activities" but I am intrigued to spend money on the things that help protect our sanity.

I have heard that these are 1000% worth it.  Our kid wouldn't sleep in the bassinet ever, so next one is getting the Snoo.

We gave up on the Snoo after about 2 weeks, but my wife wasn’t having much of anything those first few months (postpartum hit hard with #2). If it didn’t work instantly, on to the next gimmick!

To that point and someone else’s about asking for help, when it gets tough, it’s okay to walk away from a crying baby to gather yourself. Take a few deep breaths and enjoy the ride!

I’m pretty sure I would be rolling on the floor laughing my ass off if only I knew who Imagine Dragons were. Sorry, Spraggs, swing and a miss.

Oh, you're not familiar with Imagine Dragons? Well, just imagine dragon D's Nutz on your face.

Took that #1 funniest poster spot

My guy @Cardiac Cats won't post his scoops so I'll do it for him. We can probably forget about Omaha Biliew. He's not reclassifying and he's leaving Link and moving back to Iowa for his senior year.

Right on cue

so theoretically would it be possible to sell everything in my roth ira and let it sit there in a money market for the foreseeable future until the dust settles, and then reinvest? or are there tax implications i'm not aware of?

Pretty sure the only way to avoid taxes is by cashing it all out and handing a duffel bag to Avery or some other stud.

So leave it alone or bring Avery home, you can’t lose here.

21
but why?

He was born on Omaha, NE and his family moved over to Iowa when he was 2 years old. He was part of a state championship team in central Iowa (Des Moines suburb) as a sophomore (along with Tucker DeVries/Drake and Payton Sandford/Iowa) before he made the move to Link last year. Rumors he might be heading back to Des Moines for his senior year, but based on how many prep schools he was linked to last year, who knows.

If you don’t fill out a bracket then turn around and cheer for every underdog, you’re doing March wrong.

Also, kudos if this was the game that mumped your bracket! I fell for the yearly “Big10 Almighty” crap this year. Would have loved to see Keegan Murray play KU today though.

Daris is bang on correct about Brad/Frank/Delonte/Huggins. Huggs assistants weren't this group of heralded Xs & Is guys, they were recruiters. Brad isn't some dude like the guy at NW MO St. dominating D3 with tactics, he gets players. I hope our AD is focused on getting a coach who can get players and run a program. Shot making and defense wins games, not some ability to draw up a great inbounds play.
You know miles more about basketball than I do, but just from the eye test I’ve seen Bill Self win several close games (which happens a lot in college BB) by drawing up a perfect inbounds play in the final seconds.

I think you're both right. Self has 5 guys on the floor who can make shots and/or dunk through contact. Heck of a lot easier to draw up a play with options. oscar had 1 option - the only "play" I remember him running was - throw it deep and let Barry/Pack go chase it down in the backcourt and try to iso a bucket. Not saying oscar would have drawn up a play with 5 dudes who can get bucket, but that goes back to recruiting them in the first place. Give me the 4-5 guys first and hopefully the rest takes care of itself.

DST was state sponsored terror, amazing work to get rid of it.

Well bad news then for you...if it passes, DST is becoming permanent.
