3. Blackish

I don't get this one.  I tried & thought it was good for a few episodes.  I kept watching until Charlie left.  But too many characters are just canned sitcom characters.  The over-protective mom.  The over the top dorky nothing like his dad oldest son, the vain oldest daughter, & the happy not bright son.  I really liked Andre & Diane, but I couldn't get past the rest of the family.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

I am not putting them in order yet, but my faves have been (and these are judging them at their peak, some of them suffered a dip in quality):

Seinfeld
NewsRadio
The Office
Parks and Rec
Brooklyn 99
Arrested Development
The Good Place (might not count at sitcom, but I think it can)
CYE
Veep

King of the Hill is better than Simpsons. Not as famous but better. I stand by that.

I could watch 24 hours of this show and not even crack a grin.  Is it a trump thing?  Dale seems very trumpy

Kid me would rather watch The Simpsons. Grown up me would rather watch King of the Hill. Peggy Hill is the worst fwiw.

In the last month I tried to start watching these re-runs again.  I remember Peggy being awful, but the combo of her & Bobby made it unwatchable.

I wish there was a version that edited out Peggy just like I wish there was a FNL with Street & Lyla edited out.

1) I'm not a fan of the family-driven sitcom (AD aside), so those don't get very high for me.

2) I should start a new thread for animated shows.

King of Queens

Why is that funny?  King of Queens is fantastic.  Maybe not #1 but top 3 for sure.

not Top 10. Depending on what you label a "sitcom."

Post your top 10.

1. Seinfeld
2. The Office
3. Friends
4. Modern Family
5. It's Always Sunny
6. Arrested Development
7. 30 Rock
8. News Radio
9. Community
10. That 70's Show

Bucket, I'm not calling you out.

If anyone asks why there's a BET but not a WET ask them to make a list like this, name your 10 favorite...

This list that bucket has like two and a half black people; Tracy Morgan, Donald Glover, and that dude on the office with the droopy eyes.

I should be the CEO of WET  :D

The re-run sitcoms they played after school and in the summer mornings when I was a kid

Green acres
Beverly hillbillies
Jefferson’s
Good times
Andy Griffith
I dream of genie
Bewitched
Dick van dyke
Leave it to beaver
The little rascals
Gomer Pyle
Happy days
Different strokes
Mash
Honeymooners
Lucy
My three sons
Threes company
Sanford and son

20-30 years worth of great sitcoms all jammed into my brain in like 5 years, it was really great.

I forgot the partridge family and many more.

Charlie's great, he came back btw, only missed the end of that season.

The Good Place is definitely a sitcom, I like it but a season and a half of this plot line is more than a bit much.

'clams list and cat 27's second list :nono: makes me think we should do two different eras. 80's and before 90's and after. There are amazing comedies like Sanford & Son, All In the Family, The Jefferson's, The Golden Girls, etc. that got edged out on my list because of recency bias.

:bball:
1. Scrubs
2. Curb Your Enthusiasm
3. Blackish
4. The Bernie Mac Show
5. My Wife and Kids
6. Parks and Recreation
7. Superstore
8. Night Court
9. Martin
10. The Cosby Show

Others receiving votes: Sons and Daughters (FUABC), A Different World, Coach, Cheers, Happy Endings (FUABC)

If you liked happy endings and you should, you'd also like that girl. V similar.

I'll check it out, Happy Endings definitely deserved a longer run. Oh that penny!

You really should. If you like one, you will without a doubt like the other. Plus there is the whole how in the world is/why was he on both shows debacle...

I liked Benson and WKRP a lot as a kid, more than shows that were geared to kids my age like Silver Spoons, Family Ties, and Diff'rent Strokes.

I tried wkrp a lot, great intro song, les nessman and Herb Tarlock were great but I don’t think I really got it.  There were a lot like that, Barney Miller, taxi, etc..   Not a sitcom but my fav was Rockford files.

I had a copper colored firebird hotwheels car just like Jim

I used to think the poster known as gatoveintesiete was called that because he was 27 years old, but after these TV threads I think he probably chose that name because he was born in 1927.

I don't know if these are the best but they're the ones that I can watch over and over and never get tired of.

The Office
Freaks and Geeks
East Bound and Down
Scrubs
Reno 911

Atlanta and Last Man on Earth are two current shows that I have to watch as soon as they're on.

the office’s last two seasons are bad enough to push it far out of the top spot

i’m guessing many here have never seen the uk version which is where the us team directly lifted word for word much of the early seasons plot and dialogue
