i think it is easier biologically /timezonally to go west.

istanbul is a great place.  i think it's safe.
Seems a little dicey these days. Gotta believe Israel is pretty safe.

I steer clear of any countries featured in that Locked Up Abroad show. I pretty much just never leave the U.S.

Tel Aviv is legit.  I don't know why you'd choose to hang with Muslims when you could hang with Jews, assuming you had done neither before.

You really can't get good chicken fried steak with gravy anywhere else anyway.

Wow United's new site is good. I'd suggest India because it's possibly the most difficult Eurasia location to get to from the US (and IMO more interesting to visit than most of the world). Or Moscow which was on one of your trips.

I can do SFO-FRA-DEL-BKK-NRT-SFO for 147k + $200 through United. (United's award search is SO much better now). BONUS: get to fly on a 747 (still cool even if old as eff), a 787, and an A380.

Hard part is hotels. Also Frankfurt wouldn't be my first choice but United partners don't have a ton of directs from SFO to Europe.

And I'm sure you can do Air France or Aeroflot to India.

Australia is not a good place to go through. look at a map. It's also so boring compared to Japan, why would you go to the America of the southern hemisphere when you could party with puni in one of then most bizarre cultures and largest cities in existence?

Sort of related but order of continents I would visit:

Antarctica
Australia
Africa
Asia
South America
Europe(only this low because I've already been there)

So going through Australia would be ideal for me.  Also I could pop over to New Zealand and see that too.  J-Land sounds cool but if I'm traveling around the world I wouldn't use it as a hub.

I love Shanghai, don't like Guangzhou. Never been to Beijing. Hong Kong is amazing, not sure about Macau though. Singapore is interesting but sterile. I'd also look at Philippines for beaches if you're considering Bali. and Vietnam is definitely great.

I have family that has lived in Tel Aviv and think it is possible to say it might be worth visiting without being a racist bad person.  I would be more interested in visiting all sorts of other cities in the region that were more historically important, but again, also because I am not a racist bad person.
