The reactions were entirely predictable.  I imagine MTV collectively came in its pants when they saw what Miley wanted to do for her show.  Like "No rough ridin' way, you'll do that? We would have suggested it, but...really? Awesome."  They couldn't have come up with anything better if she were their blank slate. 

As far as Miley goes, it was just the next step in her becoming another Britney/Bynes/Lohan.  Everybody wins.
