Not really my thing... We are leaving out of Burlington so I'm biting the bullet and driving to Cooperstown from Portland then up to Burlington. Not excited about that much driving but maybe see some cool stuff along the way?

Yeah, that seems like fun. Too much driving can suck tho. It's supposed to be beautiful this time of year up there, so I doubt the drive will suck that bad. I got this from a friend of ours last night:

Was talking travel with a friend last night and he started talking about Portland Maine. Said it was the crap. Anyway, he shared this travel list with me so I could pass it on to you fools.

Doing a little lunchtime research. Here is what we have heard so far…We need fewer places to eat, more activity destinations...

Portland, ME

Novare Res- (Recommended by a friend on Twitter to you as well) Taproom & beer garden hidden off the street with a rotating, international list of drafts & bottles.

Central Provisions- Eclectic restaurant serving small plates & cocktails in a rustic, brick-walled setting.

Rosie's- Laid-back hangout with exposed-brick walls offering 15 beers on tap plus burgers, pizza & wings.

Commercial St. Pub- At The Pub you will find a variety of food available on the lunch menu and some great daily lunch specials as well. There is a great selection of beer on tap, from local micro-brews to everyone’s favorite domestic beers.

Porthole Lobster Shack- Raw & fried seafood plus drinks in a vintage diner interior or on a wharfside deck with live music.

J's Oyster Bar- Unassuming eatery & bar hidden on a pier is known for its steamed clams & other coastal classics.

Inf'initi brewery and distillery- Gourmet bar food with housemade beers & spirits in a hip, warehouse setting with funky fixtures.

Sunset cruise Portland schooner-Two-hour Public Sails, Private charters, and special events- Windjammer tours on Casco Bay in Portland, Maine. $45/Person. Day or night time looks cool

Street & Co. - Simple, upscale preparations of local fish in a rustic & snug bistro on a cobblestone alley.

Merchant Company - The Merchant Co. is a unique handmade arts, crafts and vintage shop in the heart of the Arts District.

Scratch Baking Co. - Cozy shop turning out artisanal breads, bagels & pastries, plus espresso drinks & sandwiches.

Bite into Maine Food Truck

Portland Head Lighthouse/ Fort Williams Park (recommended by your friend as well)

Gorham Bike Rental-start @ $35

LFK- Laid-back watering hole draws hipsters for craft beer, wine & cocktails plus updated pub fare.
 :curse: @libliblibliblibliblib

Boda Thai (didn’t even look at it since you don’t like Thai)

The Great Lost Bear (music, 70 taps)- Longtime hub for beer enthusiasts has over 70 taps, weekly microbrewery events & a broad food menu.

Fore Street- This rustic spot's open wood-fire grill, oven & spit lend smoky flavors to upscale American fare.

Sonny's- Upscale, seasonal Latin-leaning cuisine & craft cocktails in a snazzy 1800s bank overlooking a park.

Portland Museum of Art (Winslow Homer)

Eventide Oyster Co. - Tiny, busy (lol you won’t want to go here ???? )seafood joint with a raw bar, lobster rolls & creative New England fare, plus cocktails.

Wacky I still need to book flights but looking at leaving around 19th or 20th.  Going to VBO a place.  Be there for 3-4 days then driving to Albany.

Novare Res and Central Provisions being sd's portland pro-tips should have been enough. Duck Fat and Slab are also great if you want a more chill scene.

also drive up to camden and then bar harbor. split your trip up between portland and bar harbor stopping at camden for lunch on the drive up and walk around the little harbor and go to all the book stores and crap. chicks go bonkers for that garbage. then fly out of bangor so you don't drive all the way back to portland.

Great pro tips.  @WildcatNkilt i'll be there from the 24th-28th. We're obviously going to eat out a lot, but if you were to choose a place for Mrs. Wacky's Birthday dinner, which one would it be? Novare?

Novare Res isn’t a place you eat at. It’s a place you sit outside and get blackout at.

Eventide... Go late they serve till midnight. Not busy late. Delicious.
Res....great. Going again tonight
Duck fat...... Good. Nothing great. Feel like living on their name.
Breweries... Kind of far apart but went to shipyard, oxbow, and rising tide. Rising tide was my fave.
Lucky catch tour.... Do this. Great. Cool staff.
Portland lobster Co... Walking freshly caught live lobster from boat to its death is fun. Fun hang out. The sides they serve with the lobster are meh
